How is that combo for you? 5:29/33. So far I am only running the bottom gusset on the knuckle. The axle is slow going. I discovered one of the hubs that came of the axle cannot be used, its not the 6 stud 2 bolt kind. A trip to inchworm gear soon to pick up me 2 3rd's will remedy that, Scott says he has the correct hub. When the axle is 100% done then I will secure a place to do the swap.

I messed with my potential front drive shaft today. 2" .250 wall / 1.5" .250 wall. I ground a groove in the smaller square wall tube to mesh with the weld seem inside the bigger tube. A little flapper wheel smoothing and she fits pretty good.Name: IMG_1645_zps7fe56e24.jpg

I have been thinking of how to keep grease in the driveshaft and taking up a little slop there will always be. Just a thought.

Its hard to clean inside the thing. I am going to shop vac the inside as it is dry, and see if I can get the last specs out.
Tonight I am going to sand blast the axle outer, knuckles and hubs. Then the paint goes on. I need some hub studs too. Rear third perhaps friday, so it can sit overnight and cure. Can't wait.

Lucky! You have a sand blaster???? So is that easier or harder to do vs doing it how I did with the wire wheel?

The sand blaster is at the weld shop at Napa valley college. I am just about to complete an AS degree in welding. All my welding classes are done. I have 2 Foo foo classes to finish up, come May/June I graduate. I am a volunteer in the weld dept, so I can go in anytime there are classes and mess around.

I could barely afford the 3rd's, budget. The rear locker for starters will go in towards the end of the summer.
