You'll probably want to re-gear as well.

Alright thanks for that, because i found someone selling a set of 33"s pretty cheap so i think im going to pick them up and get a set of cragar soft 8's and i just got a set of 4.56 gears so i should be able to push them easier than with 4.10's. I'm also going to go with a 2" lift. (or should i go more?)

That's what i was going to do, that would give me a 2" lift then. But i'm worried that a 2" lift won't be enough for the 33"s to fit. Someone with a first gen 4Runner can chime in anytime lol

a 7" rim on a 12.50 is a no go. lol i would get some 15x10's but i love the look of fat tires. and i think they will fit with the bj spacers. if not just throw a small body lift on it man.

swimmer, do you remember joes 4runner from the RC trip? his has no lift with 33 12.50's. all he had to do was pound on the pinch weld a little on the front, but not sure what he had for an offset.

I think it also depends on which 33's you go with as some 33's are closer to 32's than other as far as real height goes. also the size of the lugs can take it closer to 12.0 than others.

I would say the BJ's and either AALs or the OME springs in the rear will be enough to fit them.

If you gonna do any crawling with them I would just go with an 8" rim though. Better chance of popping a bead with 10" when aired down to the same amount. The 8's will allow to air down more than the 10's will.

I thought Joe's had a 4" body lift? And yeah I think i'm going to go with BJ spacers and the OME springs in the rear.

35's? Hmmmm, even with gears, I would think you'd be pushing that lil motor a bit more(think you'd need at least 4.88's as well, maybe 5.29's??). However, I'm sure some will disagree that you would need to build up the motor and drivetrain in order to push them without worry. As far as the lift, my buddy did a full truck 4" lift by Pro-Comp and ran 35's, but still had to do a lil pounding...not sure on what, lol. I'm sure some more edumacated "LIFT" specialists will chime in. Did you get a good deal? They look to be in good shape, so either way, if you paid a low price, ...SCORE! lol.

Yeah that's what im afraid of, i think im just going to trade for 33"s but ill wait and see what everyone else says. As far as shape, they are in PERFECT shape, only 1,000 miles on them. I paid $500 for them, so it was a good deal.

500 with wheels? Dang, yeah, that IS a good deal! Way to go. Hey, I'm not trying to discourage you against using them. Just trying to make you think.... "How far EXACTLY do I want to go with this rig, and will it be practical for my applications?" Know what I'm sayin? lol.

Good score!

hmmm ya know what maybe it did, but a 3".

You might need a 4" bracket lift and a 2" body to fit those 35's. Or SAS it lol. Gonna have to check the back spacing to see what you got to work with and go from there.

Time to visit the will these tires fit thread. haha.

Well you can fit 33's with no lift...I ran those on my 92 pickup.

My 95 4Runner has 35's and no lift in the front and all I needed to do was the pinch weld mod. I have LC coils in the rear but I needed them for the 33's (I was really saggy).

So I think you'll do alright with BJ spacers and a mild shackle lift in the rear.

You will want to regear if you want to run 35's. You will want to go to 4.88's with your 5_spd. I don't know if you want to go as low as 5.29's. That lil 22RE will not want to spin the 35's being all stock. Once you get a cam and redo the exhaust it will really help and the Street R/V head is nice. I just in stalled one.

You can run 33's on 4.10s but 5th in hills does not work. So I'd imagine that 5th on 35's will not exist.

Sorry to highjack, ... Lumpy, did you deck the tops of the cyl's to 0? Ted told me something about that head having to be decked just right to avoid damage. ??

The block seemed fine and I think the reason the H/G when again is because I didn't get the head checked the last time I did the gasket (20K ago). So instead of messing around with an aluminum head I just got a new one. I have heard that you can get them decked but they can still be warped and the cam will not ride correctly. Happened to my buddy a few years ago.

No, Lumpy,.... what I mean is; Ted told me that when you run the ported head with cam, that, the 'clearance'(???) of the piston tops to the top of the block has to be at '0'.... I'd have to fish around to find his email to me. I think I saved it. Anyway, I'm not trying to trip you out or anything, hahaha. Just asking out of curiosity. He was telling me this for reference for my block machinist/builder.

i have a 3 body with bj spacers and t-bars cranked and can easily fit 35's as well as 36's. i had a friend who ran 35's on a 22re with 4.56's and never complained. he said his truck did everything he wanted it to do

Oooooo I see now...humph, I donno. Well I guess we shall see.

Well as far as I know, the block was never touched so as long as the block was not shaved I should be alright for clearance... Thanks for the info.
