Resectfully disagree with this. His truck has manual hubs so the front axles only spin when the hubs are locked in. On a newer 4runner or Taco with ADD I would do the diff drop with any amount of lift, but I think for the amount of time the hubs will be locked and the amount of lift that the front axles will be fine.

just a warning on the procomps, looking back I wouldn't get them. at least not factory ride height ones, can't speak for their 2-3" lift ones, but mine in the rear seem a little short, not sure on the fronts. I got the es3000's in all 4 corners.

You really shouldn't need the diff drop. Maybe something else is causing boot failures? What are you replacing them with?

i been replacing the cvs with the advance auto life time warranty axles. i do have my front cranked about .5" but the angles were the same. 4runners might be different than pickups but i think the diff drop would be a wise investment that might save him a lil time and money down the road. lol

That's cool BackGateYota, not trying to disagree with you. I'm waiting to see how my CV's last, you might be right. I actually have my T-bars relaxed a bit for the most flex possible. For now I am going to wait & see. I really want to use an IFS brace (working on one this week) & full skids but they are not compatible with a diff drop.

The only real issue I can think of with the torn boots would be that he has ADD and not manual hubs.

I'll be installing (I hope to be) 1.5" spacers in 2 weeks. I have them just not the time for it yet. I know of a lot of folks that run with spacers and not a drop bracket. I do plan on changing from ADD to manual as well. Probably not till next year though. Gotta rip the parts truck apart first.

I had a new axle last 1 day I put diff drop in and shimmed bump stops . you could actually feel pass side binding when the wheel hung free. I would use them .
