So you all got me on this paint my own truck kick. I'm going for it when I have the time/money...... And the more I think about it the more complicated my thoughts get.... SO, does anyone know if you are rolling on the boat paint. Before the clear coat, can you paint on a designs (I.E. the retro 84-85 decal designs) over the base coat? Then clear coat over it? Will it work? Will it stick? Or was there a reason they used decals on the original......?

Well we are just spraying on our paint. That's the way to go, no clearcoat just straight paint. And about the decals i have no idea...

paint on paint

well no matter the application ( i don't have access to a sprayer) i guess the question is can you paint designs on paint and have it look decent? i would imagine it's no different then puting a second coat on a base layer...... guess the edges and chiping/flaking is my question.

i was doing the clear coat thing too to make it more shiney since i'll be going black.....
