OK sorry for the delay, I've been sick... and cleaning... tons of cleaning but I'm hoping to drop in the motor buy tomorrow night I just have a couple issues before I do. I have posted some questions here...

Because of the urgency I couldn't risk waiting for you guys... hehe sorry, but if you guys have any input please shoot it my way. Anyhow I haven't taken any pics in a while so here is a teaser of my valve cover, just needs some touch up.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys I have been wicked busy. I got her together and it started up with no problems. Then I had a ton of oil start pourin out of the bell housing. The machinest took off the rear main housing so I rplaced the housing seal and the rear main but I'm thinking that its almost pumping oil into the bell housing by the ammount coming out. We are taking about a half a quart in 15 seconds. I'm thinking my machinest took off something else in the rebuild process and forgot to tell me. So I'm planing on dropping the trans tonight and praying that my clutch disk isn't smoked. Any ideas let me know guys.

Ok so after a month of dicking around with the oil galley plugs that the machinist left out I got her back together. Here she is in all her glory...
http://youtu.be/O4WLK0kW9Tw

That was on the initial start, I still have to get a timing light and fine tune it in... at least I believe. I am use to cam and crank sensors so I will need to read up on it. I have one problem though, I have a short on the alternator ground. I maybe wrong but I grounded it to the lower alt bracket and maybe I should have ground it elsewhere? Anyhow the wire is smoking so I need to get it fixed. Thanks guys for your help so far.

I think I found the problem, I'm pretty sure my ground wire from my block to frame is smoked.

Glad you got the oil plugs all figured out! Sounds great, love seeing first start videos haha. Valve cover turned out badass by the way. Makes me want to get mine rebuilt and throw a performance head on it too! Great job man.

Thanks A2theK, I had a small oil leak from the head where the distributor gear was. For some reason the bolt that goes from the head to the timing cover was bent so I got a new bolt from a hardware store (8m x 1.25 I believe) and cut it to the right size... Problem fixed. I have two dime size oil drops towards the back of the motor I will look into tomorrow night. Other than that we are taking it easy for the 1000 mile break in period and everything is running smooth. The rocker assembly is wicked loud but that is expected with new valves, rockers and cam. I am going to set the lash again this weekend and check the head bolt torques.

Hope you get everything squared away. How's the power increase with that fancy head and cam?

Well the break in is done and the motor is running strong. I need to adjust the valves one more time and check the head bolt torque but I think I can cross off motor on my to do list! Next I will be improving the suspension and gearing. I'm not sure if this truck has stock gearing or not, is there a way to tell based off of tire size, rpm and speed? Anyhow I will do some pulls in a couple days and post it for you guys...

Power increase is good, especially for how rich it's running. Once I am able to lean it out I should get a lilttle more out of her. Ill post some vids after that. You still thinking about that head?

I'm actually thinking about going towards the Engnbldr head/cam for $$ purposes. And since I'll probably order their rebuild kit too. Can't wait for tax returns

I plan on getting a wide band to monitor the afr and then I will probably just get a stand alone like mega squirt in two years. Anyhow I took off me exhaust to heat wrap and paint it. After that I need to adjust lash one more time and check head torque and throw in some synthetic oil. I promise I will post a video after all that, I just need to finish building my shed so I can turn my garage into the shop I so desperatly need.

Well it's been a while since I worked on the Wookie Slayer. Things have been going pretty good with her although she is running a little too rich and I have that tracked down to a "moded" MAF that the idiot before me attempted. I do have some news though as my family has gotten a little bigger!

I would like to introduce the Wookie Slayer II. She is a 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport auto trans with a leveling kit, skid plate and TRD exhaust tip... Its extremely awesome...

We have yet to decide what will happen to the original Wookie Slayer so I will keep everyone updated...

A couple but its hard to sell a truck without ac in the summer time. Thinking about posting it up on here or parting it out. Would you be interested in anything. I would like to get 3500 from it but if I could part it out for close to that I would consider it.
