Thanks Jason, I did get the torque converter bolts out, just got to get the 4 remaining transmission bolts out, which are a pain in the neck and then it out. Also removed all the carpet it's not bad under the carpet but got to clean them or something. Clean up the L trim paint one side with primer, looks good. Just did a the little things. Oh and removed the exhaust pipe and muffler (needs to be replaced) I keep doing things that require me to do more things and not getting the transmission done. Well that way things happen, thank god it's not my DD.........

Yeah, no problem, bud... it's admirable work and not always easy! (it aint bolt on stuff you're doing... Gotta be creative and persistent!) Unfortunately, my issues seem to not care about my persistence, lol... They're more of the "Columbo" type problems that keep evading me, lol. Meh, I'm sure it's largely me just having so much going on/not being able to stay to one thing before losing track, lol...
thanks for the compliment... Would love to just be done with this and drive it(MANNNNNNNNN that's a deja-vu from last year.... and the year before! lol.

Hey Bill,
Just wanna share that I am not using the S10 rack. RBX did, and I was going to just copy his layout... But I needed something a lil different due to the weight of my Con-Ferr and wanting any CAGE to sit lower to the roof. If I was going to do a 'rack', only, I REALLY love the look and weight capacity of that S10 rack.... The way RBX did it, it's looking/sounding as though it's SOLID! But it's on risers(built on in that rack)... So I tried the Suburban(post yr.>1999' or so?), .. but the design of the channels on the side rails made it 'unsafe' to mount my cage right into those(I could mount them right into the roof without the shorter risers it has[not built on, so they could be moved and there were 3 per side] ) ... the channels on those are somewhat trapezoidal(leaning inward on the outside of the inner channel of the rail, with very little lip on one side.) I preferred the Suburban or Yukon(NON XL) set up, to be honest, cuz those allow you to 'click-free' the cross bars and slide them up or back...and they are VERY Heavy Duty.
Just sharing cuz I feel I wasn't sure what you're planning with them ???

Hey, yea forget about RBX's rack, thanks. Mark I went back a number of pages and found your suburban rack info. I do like the way the S10 looks on my cap have to mod it a little but it will work out.
Jason, with no one getting work and no one having money, many illegals are returning, so good food maybe harder to find....LOL

Glad to hear you got to put the wiper on. It is one less step to do and a little closer to being done. Try to remind people of that. Cant let the big picture get in the way. Stay on the small pictures. You will get it.

Mark, crack the pan it's pretty straight forward removal nothing in the way, there is a plastic plate under but only keeps the dirty out. With over 336,000 mile maybe time to replace it. I drive one way to work its about 89 miles, so the diesel Getting 47 mpg helps a lot......used to drive back when fuel was a 1.40 gal my suburban at 8 mpg. I would kill them self if I had to do the today........thanks.....Bill

That did look like a nasty little hit. All because of a speed bump? I hear you on the V8 like the suburban had, my V8 days are probably over other then weekend driver or something like that. One reason I am looking into a diesel swap on down the road.
My flat bed gets 30 miles to the gallon and 75 miles round trip a day still adds up. A diesel is known for getting broken at 150,000 miles, and the miles per gallon is better then gas, and realistically to enjoy my Runner as daily driver, I need to get the mileage to at least 30 or better.
I dont know what the 6 cyclinder you are putting into your truck will get and I had one and it actually did good on gas and was pushing a bigger truck, but should do great for your truck. The Runner you are working on, realistically you are only going to get 21 mpg at best with the 5 speed in it.
336,000 miles is alot. I remember when a car was at 100,000 miles and people considered them wore out. I remember seeing on ebay that some one traded in a 2nd gen Runner 2WD that had 998,000 miles on it and it looked good. They had no idea what to sell it for. With the miles on it, it value was probably zero, but they got a good price on it. I am hoping to put a million on mine is a long term goal.
