Thanks, if you can weld a bumper you could make a carrier, that was the first one I ever made.

Awesome!

Hey, RB, .... found a Guy in LA,.... he's eager to have me give him a chance to make anything I can design in ways of a Roof rack/cage, w/lights, etc., .... and he does Bumpers, sliders, EVERYTHING I can imagine on paper, he'll make it, NO DOUBT, ... "as long as it's practical.... Unless I want something that wont work on my rig", he said, lol.

Excited about that! Alarm guy said next week, maybe Wed.!

WOOT! lol.

Sure, do you have a restriction on what version autocad you can read?

Oooh, that was for me? lol... Thought it was 'greek' jargon b2ween you and Ian! hahaha. How funny..... YES, I am intersted. How heavy is it? TOTAL? See, if I did a carrier style rear... I want Jerry Can, tucked away small box, couple things on there as well... guess that guy could just figure it out for me? lol.

Show me what you're talking about, please? Don't laugh... I'm not sure what you mean... You mean the 'schematics'?

theres one local place i been have them look at it and tell me how much. if not ill just build one base on pix because i do have a few chances to make it my own. dont wanna copy it 100% but its easier to have a basic drawing/idea already complete.

I can send it as a PDF also. I nothing else you would have rough dimensions for clearance around the rig.

Yes, schematics, drawn digitally.
If you look back in my thread I probably have a 3d view of the swingout. The idea was that I could have multiple configurations by bolting on brackets for gas, water, jack, shovel, ax....even a bike carrier idea I have. The tire is the only thing that wont change location.

I'll take the drawings, give you the metal, oogle the drawings, watch you weld it together, color the drawings with crayons, and pay you to build the bumper....

Slow, mainly because of funds. Calipers are on the way. Need to order axle service kit, since my bearings had 230k on them and there was a bit of play. The axles are at the machinist getting turned down to fit inside the solid rotor

Tailgate Courtesy Light Mod

i' just putting this here because i couldn't find it earlier, and i need to fix and issue with one of the grounds.
Put an extra courtesy light in where the rear wiper housing is located. Had to ground the light to the wiper motor since its wire to vehicle ground.
Resualt; open the the doors and two lights illuminate.

Unlock the tailgate, and the dome lights illuminate like the doors do.

Cost: $10 ...wire, 2-pin connector(for cab disconnect), bullet connectors, dome light form pick'n pull.

Tailgate courtesy light trigger 1stGen 4Runner:
Tap the green/red stripe wire on the Door Lock Control switch in the tailgate.
Run the tapped wire to the driver side kick and tap the courtesy light wire(i use bullet connectors for single wires so i can disconnect if needed)

Are you going to do a 'write up with pics' of how to do that dome light mod???????? I'M INTERESTED, ...but "here it is, here's the parts I used"..... well, I'm too DERRRRRR for that to be enough for me, just yet! hahahaha.

Great job, man! I have an extra dome light housing from the junk yard.... I could do the same thing, no problem.... IF'N I JUST KNEW HOWS'TA! LOL.
