Ugh!

Ok,here it is.I really dont like showing this, its ugly.I was going to mount the exhaust manifolds today, then I opened the hood. This hunk of metal is the only piece of my truck that has not been cleaned and painted. It is exactly like it was when it was in the bed of the truck, when I got it.I believe that the tweekers who owned this, thought that chevy orange paint added HP.There is probably 5 extra pounds of paint on this thing, and half of it is flaking off.So do I need to get a bucket of stripper and spend a week with a scraper on this thing?Or does anybody have any great ideas for getting this thing clean clean

I would love to hear from you on that matter cuse I have a pair of 63's chevys sitting and I like your set-up and also your "cheap" project! can't wait to see a video of her running!

hanger position

One of my friends went 9 inches (from center of hole to center of hole). It is apparent by looking at the truck that it was too far forward.I went with the 8.75,it looks pretty damn good to me.I can make you a set of these hangers if you want. Also note the double shackle is not finished.I need to come up with some kind of anti inversion bar or limiting strap. What do you think?

it does look centered! thanks for the response and the pic
and your hangers is just what I want but I live in Mexico. thanks anyway.

about limiting the double-shackle maybe if you weld a piece of steel at the end of the stock shackle, like a crossmember if you wanna call it like that.

I don't know if I made myself clear cuse english is not my first language!

Nice find on the Stout! Sounds like a good deal to me, the last one I saw for sale they were asking $1500 for it in similar condition.

The hard part

Well guys, im to the hard part, for me.My last build (willy) I worked on and bought parts as I went.As soon as I bought the last part that I needed,I got board and moved on to the Toyota.I have all the stuff to finish my jeep, new in boxes.I just was done working on it.I just got to that point on my Truck. Both in being finished buying parts and bordom.I have a pile of parts,a truck, and no motivation. The jeep has been sitting for nearly 4 years now and I have put about 4 miles on it.Lol.I have not wheeled for about 6 years,im feeling like the truck will meet the same fate.I need some FIRE!

Yes,I made it.The top edge fits into the bottom of the radiator (26”) I believe. So you slide the radiator in from the top on the inside until the radiator rests on the support. Then the upper core support is made from a piece of aluminum angle, that the top tilts into. After its in I made another piece of angle that bolts to the first piece to hold everything in place. Its super sturdy. And thanks for the compliments.I was thinking though the 4.3 isnt as long as my 350, are you sure you cant fit it without cutting? By the way,I sat and looked at a pic of the front of your truck stripped, for about an hour before I had the idea of how to make that support.Your truck was the inspiration for its creation, thanks
