Steering

This is the 1 ton, inverted Y steering that I got from east coast gear supply.Needs to be cut and welded to length, but this seems like serious over kill.

latest

On Sunday Jordan came up from Arlington and helped me get the np203 out of the truck.I didnt have the np205 painted or the twin shifters built yet,so the truck sits without a t case.I decided to try to start the next project.Cooling.I want the biggest radiator I can get in there, so I started cutting.I think I have figured out that the radiator from a 94-95 s10 4.3 will fit perfect, plus it has a tranny cooler. What do you all think?think?

I wonder if an extra radiator some where either on the truck would work to keep it cool?

Radiator

This is the s 10 4.3 V6 radiator. It measures 32x16.5.With a little more cutting on the front end this should fit.I just hope it keeps things cool.Anybody have any info on how big of a radiator per cubic inch a guy needs?

gm short water pump

Everyone at all of the parts stores and wrecking yards know that I am trying to build this truck for nothing. All of the big magazines do these budget builds where big name companys give them stuff for free.Im trying to do the same thing, to show it can be done for cheap.Yesterday Carl,a local guy who has been watching my build, decided that I needed a brand new GMB GM short waterpump to fit behind the s10 radiator.FREE Thanks Carl!

Radiator

I spent a good part of my morning with a plasma cutter and a grinder.I made a piece of dimond plate to go in where the core sopport was and bolted it in and cut the core support out. Then cut cut cut.I got the s10 radiator to fit pretty good in the space I had.I still need to mount it completely but this is where it will sit.

water pump

This is the clearance between the long waterpump and the radiator,I understand that once I get the short pump on it will shave 1.25 inches off of this.I think ill be able to run a regular fan!

Grill

Alot of people I have talked to, that have done a similar swap have told me, keeping it cool would be a problem. It gets hot here in the summer. So I wanted the biggest slab of radiator I could squeeze in.It fit perfect with alot of cutting. And yes the grill clears fine also with some trimming to the back of the grill I could probably fit an electric fan too, which I will probably do.
