After these pictures, I got another wind and finished stripping and grinding. Now that it is bare, this is the time for beefing up the frame. How do I do it?I have been told to only weld lengthwise on a frame.Do I make 1/4 inch steel plates and encapsulate the frame, only welding lengthwise at seams? Do I drill a buttload of holes and rosett weld it?Any help here?

I've never heard of only welding length wise on the frame, but I think cutting the holes and doing the rosett welds sounds like a good idea (I'd plasma out the holes instead of drilling them, be quicker, If I owned a plasma that is, lol) something like this:

I'm sure whatever you come up with, it will be bad@$$!!!

Engine comparptment

Thanks Ed,those frame re enforcements should be easy to copy.Today I wire wheeled the battery area, because of surface rust. After that I put 2 coats of heavy duty anti rust primer over it.Oh yea I ended up wire wheeling the entire inner fender, so I can paint it.

Fender

Way ahead of you on the core support, Curtis. When I mounted the radiator, I made a mock up core support.I'm going to use it as a pattern to build a much better one in the near future. This is the inside of the one fender, finished.I'm going to build a nice little battery holder, that will go in soon.

ive had bad luck with bed frames! built a light bar for my old bronco 2 for one and we could hardly cut it, drill it, and weld it, broke bandsaw blades cutting it, melted drill bits, and the weld would always crack, i hate springed steel

Motor mounts

These are a set of 350 swap motor mounts from Downey offroad. These use factory mount points, basically its just a tab that mounts with the 350 mounts farther forward. It leaves the factory motor mounts in the way of the exhaust.So....
