I certainly don't know - the markings on left and right side foams were different (on all sets of seats I worked on), so perhaps "left" and "right"? Though the markings on the lower cushions are the same, so go figure.

I rounded up the missing console bracket from a fellow Facebook member:

After some cleaning and painting it was ready to go in, using some new screws:

Unfortunately the screws were too small for the plastic inserts in the floor, so I used the screws that attach the shifter boot to the floor, 93560-56020, which fit perfectly:

Now I just need to finish my shifter boot installation in the shifter bezel (it is currently too "fat" for the tabs), then I can button up the console project.

i have that console bracket in my '88 parts runner. wish i'd known, i'd have sent it to you gratis.

on a different note, the seller [Vizmark2] hints at putting "a complete nut & bolt restoration of an '84 4runner" that he is going to list soon on BaT. i haven't been on BaT for a year or so, as they changed their registration/policy/etc, so i didn't bother. but, i'd guess the important features on the "to be listed '84" will be anything not specifically shown directly in the auction photos. buyer beware.

Sheeesh, I just went over that auction from this runner and man does it make me hesitant to EVER buy anything sight unseen, just the comments of how top notch the resto was from the seller was nonsensical after following this thread. There was some guys on there that pointed out a lot of stuff that didn’t look right but from the pics it looked pretty nice.

I’ll keep my eye out for the 84 coming up to see how it’s presented.

But besides that how is the 4Runner doing now? Haven’t got any updates in quite some time

Thanks wally, appreciate the offer!

As for the seller, I agree with your sentiment. I had a look at his channel, and the "fully restored cleanest 1st Gen ever" clip about the one I bought from him -
. We do appear to have different interpretations of the word "restored".

And that’s the thing- it really shouldn’t be that subjective when making the claims he does. A four year, frame off, nut and bolt “restoration” on his soon to be listed ‘84, and he has incorrect worm gear clamps at one of the heater hoses. Such an inexpensive detail to miss that’s staring you right in the face in that preview video. And the aftermarket stereo too, can’t stand them when someone is claiming restoration. Just such silly things to miss, especially since his reserve is most likely going to be well north of 25k. But you already know that.
