I like the look of ChefYota's runner, nothing too outlandish with just enough personal touches in it. There is another (besides yours) that is along the same lines that I plan to go with mine. I believe its powder blue, and of the two pics I saw most, its on a rock with the owner(?) behind it, while it is on a steep incline of maybe 60deg.

Im thinking im just gonna run to Pick n pull and grab a damn CV joint for now... I have awhile to go before im ready to do the SAS right now. I only have the axle... so... its better for me to fix the 25 dollar problem than start a project lol

I can relate to 'fixing the problem' rather than adding a 1000 new ones, due to all that's involved in the SAS. Especially the cost difference in this case, lol.
Hope it's a quick fix/that you find one quick at the Pull yard.... Is it as clear/sunny up there, today, as here?

I heard the CV is partly what holds the spindle in place. If no CV, then the spindle will have a ton of slop. Just what I've been told.
Well at least it blew on you where a tow truck could get to ya...it would have been terrible if it went in the middle of squaw ridge or something

A CV DOES NOT seal the diff. At least not on an 86-95 IFS truck. But it does seal the spindle portion of the hub. It does not remove the integrity of the spindle/wheel bearing relationship though. If CV is removed from the hub, no slop will occur.

bummer, mang. you said it blew at night....out causing some night-wheeling mischief?
perhaps keith has a spare CV sitting around since he just blazeland' his front end. you should just take out your front diff until your SAS the thing, unless you're still out wheeling. heck, you might even get some MPGs!

I'm on my phone so I'm gonna try and reply to this as best as possible lol.
Brian - you need to add me on Facebook man. Me and Troy got conned into helping some idiots out in rio linda who were wheeling on private property... So we go out there, get stuck for like 3-4 hours till 3 am. We had to call a damn tow truck and what not. And I think him dragging me with the winch and having all that mud caked up might of snapped it. Or just me in general trying to turn my steering wheel and wiggle myself out while hard on the throttle. There's pictures of the night on my Facebook. I didn't post any here because we all were definitely not treading lightly, regardless of Troy and I just trying to help out.
Everyone else - I can pull a cv on 86-95 ifs and be perfectly fine. The front diff is sealed on both sides. The cv is held on by a 6 bolt/stud arm on both sides. But it will make the hubs. So I don't know what I'm gonna do yet. I'm gonna shop around for a used or

So I decided to pull off some of my IFS armor and sell it to fund my SAS. Also thinking of picking up a more efficient DD. Besides, I need a car for when my truck is being cut up. So the IFS brace, Skid plate, and manual hubs are all up for sale.
On top of that, i decided to install my winch. coming along pretty nicely. Didn't have to reclock it either. The whole assembly is backwards too. it needs to be flipped, so that the wires feed through the top plate. so i'll probably do that tonight, and figure out some sort of way to mount the box.
