Did yours have cruise control on it before? I am fairly sure that the main harness has to be pre wired for it from the factory. I am fairly sure that is one reason Toyota has several different part numbers for the same year of truck due to the different options.
I know on one of the harnesses I swapped out, the Crusie Control Plug is attached to the main harness not to far from where your stereo harness comes out of it.
The part number to your main harness is above the steering column. You will atleast need to pull your cluster gauge to find it. Then you might put it or the VIN into toyotapartseast.com and see if your harness would support cruise.
My long term goal is to get cruise control on my trucks. I am going to try to get an aftermarket harness for mine. The factory cruise from what I hear is problematic. I really enjoy driving my trucks on long distance, but no crusie control is my BIGgest complaint when driving them on long distance.
Not the best picture in the world, but here is what it looks like and where it is at.

I am not sure how to figure out what options is on which harness. As far as I know the options that are not in all harnesses are Cruise Control, Glove Box Light, Electric Antenna, Electric mirrors, windows, and locks, there is a drop light option near the hood release. I think this is why there are so many part numbers. This is the best I have figured out so far.
I would think the 3.0 cruise would work on your truck if it had it at one time or if you knew how to wire it into the system.

Its crazy the amount of options that were available on these vehicles.
My runner is an SR5 with Power windows, Power antenna, and cruise control. But not power mirrors, locks, underhood light, or glove box.
So many different variations. Makes my head spin sometimes.

I would rather have something with a deeper storage compartment

Another option I have forgot about and tried to make work is the Low Level Fuel Light. The fuel gauge has a 3 wire unit instead of the 2 wire for the Non Low Level Fuel Light. All gauges, SR5 and Non SR5 have the light available in the cluster. I have installed the bulb and the 3 wire fuel float and it too wont work. I think that is another option that has to be wired into the harness.
These harnesses are something else. I may be learning something now and tomorrow but will have to do some checks to see. Toyota and their electrical was a little screwy back in those days.

The low level fuel light must be the only option that my 4runner came with, lol! I'm surprised it still works, I pulled the electric fuel pump out of the tank and used a pickup tube from an 85' Toyota truck gas tank since I was using a mechanical fuel pump with my 302.

Looks good and being white would be nice. Check the inner fender tabs and make sure they are still there. Some times they are rotted off. Since it didnt have the chrome trim you might luck out.

If those mirrors are in good shape you should grab them. They go for gold on eBay. I also see a skid plate on the ground. Also worth getting if it's in decent shape. We never ever have 1st gens around here.

I'll try to head back there later this week and see if they are there. I'll get them if anyone needs them
