Its a turbo baby!

Hey guys, im new here and new in the 4runner world! I used to think lifted toyota pickups were the bee's knee's.... That was until i set my eyes upon a beautiful first gen 4runner! My heart was set to buy one of these majestic creatures, with about 2 months of searching i have found a mint 1987 22RTE for 4 grand 255k on it. Its all stock so i can build it my self. Is this a good buy? What should i lookout for on the turbos? Over all, is it a good buy? Oh, and last thing, am i posting in the right place for this type of topic?

No. Off topic is for silly banter and stuff that has little or nothing to do with Toyota's.

Probably want to start here...

can't put the IMG code around a desktop file. Upload your pics to Photobucket..
Also try files bigger than 50x50, some of your pics would be tiny..

just went and looked at it and it was in pretty good condition. a couple problems though... when i was driving it, it wouldnt go past 37 mph with the pedal to the floor. it had fresh tires on it, it was leaking oil from the oil pan and it had its dents and dings. Would it be a transmission problem for not going past 37? The guy also used a red type of silicon for seals instead of gaskets...
