No, sorry, didn't mean to mislead, wasn't my intention, Ian... I HAVE one, just not for sale. Just wondering if you're going to start that discussion here. I abstained from expounding upon that, just yet, as this is your thread and I don't want a whole page to run on due to speculation and conjecture, lol. You'll find one, locally, you're a good 'part hunter'... And people are selling right now, more than ever. So, sadly, in part, it's a 'buyers market', yeah?

Best wishes on finding the very one you want........

I'm happy with my LCE, immensely! Sound/performance and working clean with the 22REEEEK, lol.

Have fun while you're at it, whatever it is, eh? lol.

PS> I was in Pick-Your-Part, the other day, picking up that S10 rack? Guess what was in the yard, being TORN(literally) apart? 87 Turbo 4Runner with a header... They were DESTROYING THE THING. SO SICK of how these guys ravage these yards by 6AM, tearing things off rather than UNBOLTING THEM, etc! GRRRR! lol.

Anyway, like i said, happy hunting!

Oh yeah, Paul, ...that's not to mention they have 'buddies' in the yards that let them in early to yank ALL THE TOYOTA GEARS before anything else... That's stupid, of the yard I mean, IMHO.... They could sell some of these things, whole, that day, were they to just let the thing be 'had' as they open! GRRRR!

i decided against getting the li'l 84... oh well. 4th yota i've passed up in 2 weeks now.

and now for those pics

drove with it like this for a day... (sounded cool when idling, though)

snap! easy to line up, though

and a few minutes later-

i still have a small leak somewhere, but it's not nearly as bad as it was. not even as bad as just the small crack

but- if i'm getting new headers, i won't need them.

my decision now is between lce and dt. lce are stainless, but are 4 to 1. dt's are 4-2-1, but aren't stainless. hmm...

Are the DT's ceramic coated? Or can you get them that way? If so, stainless won't matter.

"s" pipe? What do you mean?

Do you have a different cam installed? Stock?

Any header you get will help improve performance, headers should be made with equal length pipes, dependent on cam variables, and joining together/collecting dependent on firing order. So a 4 into one or a 2 into 1 may not make a difference performance wise between the two.
Getting the pipe ceramic coated will help keep temps down in the engine bay no matter what material it is made out of...just an option. If it's stainless, it isn't necessary to coat, but would help keep temps down as mentioned. If it is mild-steel chrome coated, i would definitely have it ceramic coated before installation. Chrome will turn colors, pit and corrode quickly in our environment. I used to own a set of Downey headers back in 1990...yes i'm old.

stock cam

i've decided to go ceramic coated to keep temps down

"s" pipe- the slightly bent pipe that goes from the header to the cat. i guess connector pipe is a better term:

Do you have a free-flow cat? The exit of the header will be restricted by the rest of the stock exhaust. The CAT, muffler and pipe size all play their part.
Since you can weld a cheap alternative would be to fab your own exhaust. These guys have the best prices i have found online, and check out their b-stock list, pipes are usually about 50% cuz they have dings or scratches.

If you can afford it go stainless, if not aluminized steel 2.25" all the way.
You could modify your muffler to flow better if $$ is an issue. but the cat would need to be replaced.

think he means the cross over pipe...

I've had mine snap at that location on my 87 22r... it's the weak spot when your exhaust mounts are'nt as flex able and you are getting a lot of engine/driveline flex...

for the leak check the pipes on the CAT sometimes you get cracks were they attach to the body of the Cat... also check the muffler in/out pipes you get cracks where they attach to the body of that too... ask me how I know these things...

def. go with a free flow Cat/muffler... 2.25" min. pipe size that alone will free up a lot of power even without a header...
