r151f, not r150. and yes, they were only made for 2 years on less than half the trucks they sold over 25 years ago

Just curious if that was you who has told me not to get those soft touch ones.
meh, they'll work, and they look neat, but there's better options out there. i suggest looking through mouser.com in the "switches" section (under electromechanical)

lots of legwork. my r151f was a 2.5-hour drive away, cost more than i wanted to spend, and the guy had to hold it because there were half-a-dozen other people interested in it.

on the contrary, it took me a bit over a week to get rid of a w56-e (late-model w56) when i listed it for free

Can't wait for that day that it resumes full swing! X2 on the sentiments above! Great ideas abound,.... many of which I've already used!

Excited about the boat as well, can't wait for some trip pix.

Time for the rest of us to catch up
I look forward to future updates.
I thought it was only the southeast getting all this messy weather? Y'all feel free to keep it up there, i think we have had two rain free days in the last three months.
Have fun with your boat.

Ooooh, Trunion bearing eliminator..... Read up on that and then spoke to Eric and I believe Scotty, and someone else... They all seemed to share more con's than pro's. I can't remember what the primary Con was, but I'll ask again as I'm still tossing a few things around.....

How you been, Ian?

I finally got through this entire thread. Wow! Lots of stuff I'm wanting to do to my 4Runner as well as to a Pickup when I pick one up. I have a few leads....we'll see when I finally return to the states. Work keeps me on the go and busy too much.

Trailer looks good Ian but it needs an awning imo... and maybe some Corona or Havana Club pennants... I'm guessing the grill was still in the back of the truck... nice beach but where are the wahini's?

Did you switch the cover on the switch?

and it looks factory, so i was stoked about that

my dash for most of wednesday

when i wired the lights up, i wanted to be sure that i didn't leave them on to drain the battery (again). so i wired them up to a relay controlled by both the switch and the light reminder relay. here is where i tapped it. (green is +12v when the running lights are on)

now for some test shots. all of these were shot at the same exposure and about the same angle

low beams

high beams

hellas

i angled them lower than the high beams, yet a bit higher than the lows. it works out nicely, and doesn't blind people. i have noticed that there are fewer people trying to cut me off

but there are guys who do, in fact, change the cover to make it a different symbol. i forget where i saw it, but you can try searching around on the goog

also, i just bought another r151f. not sure what i'm going to do with it yet, but i have it. i may end up cleaning it off a bunch and swapping it into my truck later on. don't know

Behemoth balls! I'm really sorry to hear that man... What are your contingency plans? You think just pulling around the trailer in the sand and so forth might have put it over the edge ?

Hoping for the least depressing news bud! Couldn't be PCV? I figure you thought of that first thing, but it cant hurt to mention it, right?
