I looked up the resonator... very cool! I might have to try making one.
Right now I have a cheap Thrush on there. Not sure if it's turbo or not, but it was something quick to get myself on the road. Any recommendations? What's on your truck?
Back pressure seems decent for what I have right now, and the cat seems to be doing its job.

So the LoLux is a '92 22re 2wd using 2-1/4" pipe all the way to the Walker 22460 muffler - cherry bomb resonator(where the cat would be, I'm not a cat person haha). It gives a nice low rumble when you put your foot into it, but idle and cruise is very quiet, heck , the 22re engine noise is louder then the exhaust itself.

I have a Flowmaster Delta 40 and cherry bomb resonator on the 4Wallet, it sounds good on the v6, but it's a bit load in my opinion.

I did the math out on making a Helmholtz resonator... damn that was a lot of math.
I'd need a few sections of exhaust tubing, but it would be smaller than I thought (around 6" total).
Though, that's at 400hz. I tested it on my way to work this morning, so it may be different at higher speeds.

That's cool, I will probably just straight pipe the diesel since on initial testing the engine clacking is louder then the exhaust thanks to turbo power! If I get a drone at highway speeds, I plan on using the Helmholtz idea.

I think I did the math right. Here is the spreadsheet I used. All the blue boxes are where you input data, and the yellow boxes are the output (the "inches" at the bottom is the length of the neck).
All you need to do is play around with temperature (500-1000º F, depending on where in the system it goes), neck diameter (assumes 16 gauge steel), chamber diameter (also 16g), and chamber height. The frequency is the drone you get in the cab, and the further up you place the resonator, the less noise you'll have.

As for exhaust: After looking around, I think I'll go with a glasspack into a Walker Quiet-Flow. It seems that this setup is a fairly quiet design. It might also help if I finish the shift bezel on the floor.
And I'm still tracking down the issue with the speedometer and tachometer. I think I have everything wired correctly, but I'm getting no signal to either the combination meter or ECU. (Well, the tach reaches the ECU, but not the speedo). More troubleshooting!

Woo! Back on the road!

I finally got my speedometer working. Turns out the connector I was using had multiple pins tied together. I forget where it came from, but it had enough pins to just rearrange the configuration.
Also, these past few weeks my folks have been cleaning out their house (getting ready to move). The truck has come in handy for clearing out all my junk from the basement.

Fuel pump troubles... woo. After about a half hour of driving, I get power loss, sputtering, and stalling under load. I'm going to have to clean out the garage and get to work. I'll probably have to replace a crap-ton of hardware, too. Replacing the fuel pump will be much easier when I put on a tube bed...
