Terry, I saw a Tundra yesterday at the JY. Check those rear brakes on that third gen. I ate some rotors up on the 99 and discovered the rear axle seals were leaking and making the rear drums useless. It was putting it all on the front brakes. After getting seals done and new shoes on rear...she stops real nice now. Allthough Tundra brakes up front would be nice.

As far as your 1st gen goes..I saw 3-4 2cd gens yesterday all with master/booster calipers. I paid 13 each for calipers from a t100 4x4. The nice 4 equal size piston calipers.

There was a 3rd gen....just like yours there. Same color...everything. She took a front end shot.

When you be back up this way for drills? We can hit this place and others.
You'll have to man the wheelbarrows though...I get a free pass on not toting stuff....lol.

If I recall right, I used my air hose set at 20 lbs and the pistons come flying out of the bore. I was surprised that little pressure sent one flying across the room. It was a good thing I was not in front of it, it would of left a mark on me.lol They are easlily rebuilt for alot less then remans.

I tried air. I may have swollen the seals with pb blaster or something. Ill get them out if I have to dunk the things in carb dip and melt the seals out.
Matter of fact. Ill try that tomorrow.

It wont hurt anything as the kit comes with new seals as well for the pistons.

Yeah rock auto has the kits pretty cheap. I think they sat off the truck a little too long...prolly why hard to get out. The ones I have out are clean as a whistle though. Just the crud around the very front thats making it hard.

I have only really spent about 20 minutes total on them. Bout long as my neck can take.

I go Tuesday to get a Cortisone shot in my cervical spine. ( big shot in neck...right down near spinal cord) Pretty nervous bout that...but Im hopeful it may make at least my neck feel better. It is the first thing that hurts when I try and do something. I dont like it one bit. But I have to try something. otherwise they are gonna chop on me.

Shots are bad enough, but one in the spine,Whew!!! Hope all goes well for you. Just the thought scares me.

Dont know if I mentioned it to you or not, but have you tried Chiropractor? Your spine is the highway for all the information that travels thru your body.

Chiro cant help my situation much. I have ruptured discs. The harder outer layer of my disc split...and the inner jelly stuff came out....it is sitting on a nerve root...causing constant pain. So I got one of those in my neck...3 in my lower back...and a possible in my mid back. Still fighting for mri on mid back.

It's been a legal chess game with the work comp company. They will smile and sweet talk you like a lover to get you to sign up and pay them 4k a year....the second I make a claim....instant laywer up legal chess battle. I am winning though. Since I own company..I can choose my provider. Regualr employees have to go where employer sends them. I was able to fire first doctor who tried to push me back to work with ruptured discs. He didnt even tell me I had ruptured discs...didnt even read my mri report. So I fired his ass. That pissed the ins company off very much...they tried to cut me off...but the law is on my side....only because i am the policy holder.

New Dr. is a former marine combat surgeon. He is standing up for me vs the insurance company...promised to make me stop hurting at least. He did say Im done with tile though. He wrote a report to the ins company....basically stating I had not even recieved any care and there were many mistakes and so forth. He steped up...cause the Dr.'s all know each other.

I really really wish I wasnt even hurt at all. 6 months of boredom and pain.
Terry coming up to the house was about the most fun I had the whole time.
Even though helping him cost me a solid week of suffering...lol.

Im babbling. /end babble

Was all set to get some goodies today. Had a guy come to buy my 2006 e350 van today.
He was a Ford tech. Spent 2 hours crawling all over it. Drove 200 miles. Offered me 6500 complaining cause the front tires are a little cupped. I was asking 8,000. So....its up on ebay now. Ill prolly make 1000 more on ebay anyways.

Cross your fingers....at least I have lil more time to research. Did finally pick a welder out I want too.

Give me one more day to review tires and shocks before I order.

I don't know if you still got your old tranny but I found this thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...eekend-271102/ and as soon as it warms up, I am going to give it a try on a couple of trannies that I have and see if it makes a difference. I have always wondered if it could be done. I had searched several sites and never could find an answer. Looks promising.

See you got your Trekker for sale. I can understand why. It would make it rough working on. Great to hear you got van sold. It looked to be a great van and heavy duty.

87 Still running great. Been driving it when I run errands and stuff. Running like a champ. Chasing a small oil leak...she needs a day in the garage. And some tunes.

Great work here Highlux, beautiful color! Sorry to see what the PO did to it. Some people just have no respect or don't know what it means to take care of something. Long ago my dad tried to sell his mid 80s chevy half ton. A buddy he knew wanted to test drive it before buying, so my dad let him take it for a spin. Guy went and mobbed the truck and blew the 350 in it, brought it back and said he didn't want it. Sooo, my dad in his rage swapped in a 454 with glasspacks, 3/4 ton axles, and drove it for years after. I still remember that old truck, could pass anything but a gas station. lol.

I am glad you got your sweet ride back. There are rigs I wish I never got rid of.

I was able to get my cig lighter working and my clock. Minor victories.

Sorting out the wiring and such to get a radio in this thing.
Ordered new factory plugs to solder and shrink wrap in.
Starting from what it should have had then will use an install kit with plugs.

There was a dual radio sitting in the truck with no faceplate.
I am tempted to order a plate for it and see if it works. The radio would have what I want...usb all that. Still have to see whats left of the speakers. I may do that tomorrow.

Got a replacement radio bezel...they guy I sold it to broke clips off. He f'd up everything he touched.

Just piddling. Now the trekker is turn key startable at any moment...getting it in and out of the garage to get the runner in is alot easier.

I love the color too. Shame old boy scratched it all up. It will get a respray at some point. I have many bodyman friends...so it wont be so bad. May even do it myself...but I have a little rust to fix on pass wheel arch.

Chipping away. Little here...little there.

Having one that wont run sitting in the garage is a pain. So many times you just need to move it out of the way for a few moments and that can turn into a chore when they wont run. That is a victory in itself.

Still cant believe the PO of your runner screwed it all up. He will always be one of those guys wondering why he cant have nice things. I cant figure that out myself.
