My driver's seat is ripped in the typical spots for a 20+ year old 4runner with close to 200K. It has also reclined one me a few times while driving like the ratchet mechanism was about to die. Not a good thing to happen I had looked around for a good replacement but no luck finding one that was cheaper than what I paid for this thing

Several years ago I installed a set of 96'ish Prelude seats in the Trekker. I had replaced those with a set of suspension seats. Attempted to sell the Prelude seats and even tried to give them away..No luck, they sat in the garage for a few years. They are still in great shape so I busted out the tape measure.
busted out the tape measure...front mounts were 16.75" on the 4Runner seat

hmmm...Prelude seat front mounts are 16.75"

i throw the seats in the 4Runner to test fit..the inside mount for the prelude mount of course hits the seat belt mount causing it to cock the seat at the wrong angle

At first i thought about picking up some camry or corolla latches that would mount to the seat rail similar to the prelude latch. I was gonna have to make a mount to the inside rear corner any way, so I cut that sucker off and mount the seatName: 20161027_172307_zpsz3kxc0nu.jpg

pretty cool that the stock front mounts work perfect
outside rear mount will get extended tomorrow with some flat stock. Inside rear should be a simple 'L' bracket.

it will end up being bolt in install..
Not a perfect match but i think it will work

Great job reusing the Prelude seats, and they look good in there to boot! Nice it's more bolt-in than not.

Yessir, I just didn't know it was that easy as far as stuff lining up. the floor of the Trekker was Swiss cheese from how many times it had been drilled by different people to install seats over the years.

Finished up the seat install
They don't look half bad

No, they don't look half-bad. I'd say pretty awesome. Looks like they have that front hamstring support thingy. So adjustable? I like the deep side bolsters or whatevers too. Quite nice indeed.

I didn't notice if the front of the seat was adjustable, gonna have to check. I know the side bolsters are adjustable, and it has lumbar support which helps this old paratrooper's back out..
Glad you like them. It was a nice and quick install that only cost me time

Yikes! Been thinking about getting one of those, especially after the lady ran the red light and hit the person next to me and another person in the oncoming lane. I hung around and told the cops what happened, they said the light runner was saying she had the green. A video would have been awesome.

i will probably get one to throw in my Dodge too. My wife said heck no to putting one in her car
I have one that will eventually face backwards in the 4runner. I ran an outlet back there an eventual ARB type fridge (some day) but it is wired constant on so I will need to run a new one back there that will only be on with the ignition.

added a few more horsepower to the 4runner.

spent some time on a Long Range Surveillance team a lifetime ago, my Long Range Recon membership packet finally came in..

Reluctance did a set of upgraded headlight housings recently so i decided to give them a shot.

while doing the install Wiley E. Coyote was strolling down the block in front of my house:

these things are definitely clearer than the old foggy with moisture housings:

install is pretty straight forward, remove the corner lights, remove the grill install and re-install the other junk.
I went ahead and pulled a PIAA H4 headlight harness from the trekker and used it with these headlights (which use a H4 bulb)
Daylight they definitely seem brighter. Will get them aimed tonight see what the verdict is.

I initially tried it with out the harness and relays...I was about to ship the housing back because the light pattern sucked..I am using a set of LED's off amazon. I swapped in some H4's that were slightly better.
Decided to give the LED's another shot using the harness, with a separate relay for each bulb it made a huge difference. Still not sold on the LED's. Keeping the H4's in the back of the 4Runner in case something whigs out with the LED's. I was gonna get some night shots yesterday but the weather sucked. The out put is great but the pattern is not like the Truck Lite's I had in the Trekker. I think I got spoiled.

Looking at it i could have used more of the original console for more of a fascia covering.
maybe on version 2.0

Looks like you have been getting several things done. Coyote sure seemed brave to be out in the open. Most dont stick around long. I like your stickers. It is always kind of nice seeing them on trucks and never know when someone recognizes which group you were in along the road. Traveling thru Tucson years ago, I bumped into a guy I served with just by seeing a sticker on his truck.

Did you decide which lights you liked better?

The coyote has been a frequent visitor lately. Our county sheriff has put out notices not to call 911 if you see a coyote, apparently they are getting a ton of calls daily.
Some neighbors want them shot on site, personally I think they are cool.
I was wearing my old unit sweatshirt a few years ago about at the Bonneville Dam and had a lady ask me if I could mind talking to her dad. He was a Vietnam Era LRRP and recognized the unit scroll. We spoke for about 15 minute until my kids were getting pretty antzy.

Lights: haven't decided. I may order a better set of Phillip's Osram bulbs that would have a more uniform output. Fortunately the output is not really glaring like an unfocused HID would be. I may try some more adjustments

We used to have a small pack of coyotes that hung out in the neighborhood, would come home to find them in the back yard all the time. I liked them too, but don't have outdoor cats either. Lately it's just been the deer and red foxes. Those are cool too.

Everybody knows next to the 3.0 the next worst thing about a 2nd Gen 4runner is the cup holders.
Got my 3D printed cup holder from BH3D today.

I am a hunter and dont understand why they try to eleminate the coyotes, they dont seem to cause problems around here for our livestock. The cup holder you have is far better then what the factor had. Looks like it would be in a handy area as well.
