ChubbyChaser's 1994 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Well Ive had this truck for just a little over a year now an thought I'd share it with the world, Its a 1994 regular cab short bed 22re 5 speed on 31" boggers.

This is how it looked when i first picked it up a completely stock Toyota with Mickey Thompson Classic 2s with 31" A/Ts

The first thing i bought for it were a brand new set of 31x12.50 Super Swamper Boggers

Next I removed the front valance, rear bumper an most of the exhaust, and hit some mud, it did extremely well for 31s an had no problem clearing holes with crazy ruts an deep water .

And then I had to lose the 15x8 Classics for some wider 15x12 Outlaw 2s which stretched the tire extremely well an hangs it outside the wheel well pretty nice.

With them mounted.

But then one night a Buddy of mine had a great idea to go see how it'll do on a pretty serious trail after it had been raining for a good part of the week...

I dumped the clutch in second gear an hit the hole to fast causing water to shoot directly into my motor an distributor causing it to shut off in the middle of the hole, after cleaning out the distributor we limped out of the hole with the motor knocking like a midget with a hammer was in there. So we drained the oil in the parking lot an hoped it would get most of the water out...

So it went from this:

To this:

Two days later the rod decided it wanted to go through my block, an did just that leaving a fist size hole behind it.

So we ripped the old one out an replaced it with a brand new 22re with 0 miles on it!

But after we got all of that sorted out the truck is running fine an has yet to see another hole yet... but give it some time.

Inspiration. Im bout to have to put a new motor in mine. I've also got a case of the midget wit a hammer disease. What company did you go with for a 0 mile 22re.

Are you satisfied with it. Is that long block price?

Yeah Im happy with it, it does seem to lack some power but the timing may be off, an it came with mainly just the block an head, you do have to reuse some studs, oil pan, oil pick up, water pump an all that good stuff, there website has a 3d view of how it comes.
