Interesting evolution of your build. How much wider are you now? Are you still going to be able to get enough spring rate out of the aftermarket Torsion Bar (25-26mm) with the added fulcrum length or are you going with a coil over conversion?

I shorted up the upper arm from + 5.25 to +4.50.My thoughts, it might handel better with the top arm shorter and help with the torsion bars.I also moved the top balljoint back 1 inch for added caster .37-14.50 tire needs more caster than a smaller tire to dive down the road good. I rolled the cams in on the lower a arm and was able to get the tire staight up and down. I am happy with how it drives although the steering fills slightly heavy when turned.

My scrap yard freebee arms are looking like they need some help.I Started to clean them with a grinder and flaper wheel. On my second arm I built the top plate small so when i welded it in my weld would penaetrate down the the side so i can smoth the weld .

Your scrapyard UCAs look super beefy! I like the design of adding / welding on an extension section the way you did. I have a few sets of scrap UCAs from core returns that customers sent me over the years that were rejects because they were hacked up for BJ spacers or such. I was revisiting the possibility of cutting and lengthening in a way that would allow running a coil over conversion through the pocket rather than behind the UCA. Running the coil assembly behind the UCA (like a J-Arm) works fine but adding a secondary bypass shock would be a nice feature. I was also trying to incorporate some improvements for caster / camber adjustment. It just seems to be over engineering a simple solution; the bolt on UCA extension brackets have been working so well. But then again everything has room for improvement. Good stuff!

Pretty cool, nice work. I'm surprised I didn't find this thread when I was researching my own project. I really like the MK3 supra diff, that's what I used. Still looking to lock it. I also forked over the $$ for RCV axles, although I thought about sleeving the stock axles like you did. I'm curious as to how the 1/4 wall sleeve is holding up?

PS: Sorry to thread jack for having a different model, meant only for comparison of center diff

HeroCopter has a sweet ride! I am going to read more about it on the TTORA link he provided. As for how many folks out there are running a center mount diff I know of only three. Cassidy, Arron, and myself are the only ones I have information on but I know there are a few more out there. I have heard there are a few in Australia doing it with stock length control arms. Arron also has the Supra 8", which reminds me I need to get an update. If I can get them I'll post some photos!

i am still running 120 wall dom for axle sleeves.I twisted one but i was being overly hard on them.I will build a set out of 250 wall soon i hope.I was thinking when i built my first set that the week point would be at the welds connecting the axle to the sleeve.now that the welding Has proven to be strong it time to up grade the sleeve materials.
