I was in the Dallas and Austin area a couple of weeks ago. The whole time I was there I only spotted 1 late 80's Yota. Are 1st Generation Yotas that rare in Central Texas?

Dunno about Central Texas, but in the last year I've owned mine, I have only seen 2 on the road in northern Indiana
edit
That's 4runners
Maybe 5 pickups
Maybe
My dad owned a late 80s pickup, the frame rusted in half in the late 90s

Thats wild, magnet18! I see a bunch here in California so it was kind of a shock to only see 1 in the areas I visited in Texas. I have to postpone May's rebuild because I need to switch gears for a move to The Lone Star State. Once I'm settled in, I should have more space to do a proper tear down and rebuild.

Plenty of space in Texas!
Get a barn or 2!

Scored on a factory pop-up sunroof sunshade (63306-8910103). It ust needs a little clean up job! I never did figure out the part number for this. This is definitely gonna come in real handy in the Lone Star State!

Will do space-junk. There was another one on eBay. I'm trying to find the listing. I'll let you know if/when I locate it.

Adventure Copan (T4R) used to have one in Dallas area, but he moved to Honduras and sold his 4Runner.

Oh wow! Out of country move. And I thought my near future move to Texas was big. LOL!

I did a search for Rock Crawlin' places in Texas, luckily there are a few locations. Not the Rubicon or Fordyce but it'll do. I'll probably have to go out of state for some water crossing trails, etc,.

Is there a way to know if a 4Runner is a "True Factory Turbo" via the VIN or some marking?

I'm researching it right now. But in the interest of time, I thought I'd ask y'all.

I may have found another Turbo which is in pretty good condition.

Ok, I found the VIN Decoder. It specifies that it is not a "True Factory Turbo" 4Runner. The previous owner apparently swapped top-end engine and interior parts before he pawned it off. I just spoke to the seller. He looked at the receipts which came with the 4Runner when he bought it. One of the receipts mention the engine block is non-turbo. Dang... I thought I found another jewel in the rough.

So I put my deposit down today...

I'm in line for a 22RTE long block from 22RE Performance (Putney's) in Chico, CA. I chose the Stage 2.5 build. Once the new 22RTE is ready, I'll pull my current long block and drop it off when I pick up the new long block + other goodies. That way I don't have to make 2 round trips to Chico, CA. The website says it's going to be a 24 week wait. Hopefully it's finished sooner.

I finally found a replacement digital meter!

Now, if I could just find a set of front turbo headrests...

22RTE Digital Meter

P/N: 83010-89103

You all should look into LCEngineering.com They specialize in Toyota trucks. That where I got my Garrett turbo kit to upgrade my tired CT20.
Also wouldn't hurt to check out jarcoinc.com they specialize in Toyota also. They have a lot more take off parts that they don't listen on their site. I needed a flywheel once and called them up. They had it and shipped it to me cheap.

Whats up 86-Turbo. Yup, LCE is where I'm purchasing my turbo kit. All of the other major engine components will be bought from 22RE Performance in Chico, CA. Thanks for the heads up though.

LCE has a couple different cam grinds also. I got their Stage 1 street performance turbo cam for my truck. I'm getting close to firing my truck up.
