I don't have a picture of the actual switch, but it's a two pin switch in a 3 pin type harness. Just put the meter set to continuity between the two pins. If your pressure is within spec and your switch is good, you'll get tone. Technically, you should do the test with a gauge set hooked up. You really should just read the diagnostics in the manual. It's pretty extensive and it will lead you to your problem.

You don't understand bro... Some folks don't like wrenching, some don't like to do their own oil changes, some don't like to wash their own vehicles, some don't like to cook and some don't like to do their own taxes. I DON'T like to mess with electrical stuff. That schematic with that jargon falls squarely into that category of the very few things I don't like to do. Believe me, I wish I wasn't intimidated by electronics work. Thanks anyway mholme, I know you mean well. I'll find help from someone who's electronics savvy.

G'mornin y'all! My apologies for not having time to update my post. I've been eyeballs deep these past few weeks doing finishing touches on my house in preparation for getting her on the market. We're trying to get her sold so we can get a move on to the Lone Star State. Hopefully the sale happens sooner than later.

May's current status:

- The A/C still doesn't come on via usual means. The A/C works but I can't turn it on by pressing the button on the temperature control panel. I was able to actuate the clutch on the compressor by directly energizing it via the battery terminal... She blows COLD. So I need to figure out, with someone who's good at electrical circuit tracing, where the disconnect is between the temperature control panel and the A/C clutch.

- When I shut the engine off I'm hearing a boiling sound somewhere around the hose that connects the water pump to the turbo water inlet. I'm praying it's just a trapped air bubble that I can release by bleeding the line at the banjo fitting on the turbo water inlet. I've tried everything else. This seems like the most viable plan right now.

I just haven't had time to work on May with all the house stuff but I'm nearly done with my house so I'll be back on the saddle reasonably soon. I hope I can sort her out before our move/drive to Texas!

I think the boiling water sound is the water in the lines to the turbo boiling after shutting off. Ours does it too.

Are you serious?

Who else following this thread has the same boiling sounds? And are we talking about aftermarket setups or OEM setups?

Well, you and I are the only ones that have the LCE kit on YT.

Did you try and bleed the line like I'm planning to do?

No, I havent simply due to the fact that the head is coming off to have the cometic head gasket and ARP head studs installed as well as a slight, random, weep from the water pump.

My not so exact "factory" setup boils and surges also. I think it has to do with the way it routes inside the timing and pump jackets, basicly it is a heat siphon once the pump shuts off so it will gyser and refill and repeat with the restriction on the refill.

Sorry for being MIA y'all. These past few months have been chaotic to say the least. We're almost completely unpacked and sorted out. I'll be getting back to working on her soon. I've had several offers to buy her since we've arrived in Texas, LOL! I will say this generation 4Runner is rare in these parts. I've only seen 2 since we've been here and we're reaching 5 months.

Here's a recap of what I've learned about her so far driving around in the Texas Hill Country heat. It's pre-winter now so we're all good there but yeah, summer was tough on her. I have to rethink my radiator choice, which is a new OEM 3 row radiator. Either my new temperature sensor is bad or I've nearly overheated twice. At 75mph with the A/C on full blast, the temp gauge rose quite a bit. I'm probably going to go with an aluminum setup but I'd really like to find a custom radiator builder who can put together a 4 row.

Her A/C wiring issue hasn't been addressed yet. I just haven't had the time to dedicate hours to figuring it out and as I stated before, electrical troubleshooting isn't one of my strengths. I temporarily directly wired the wire for the compressor clutch with a toggle switch. I'm hoping to figure it out so I can remove the temporary wire.

I also need to find a welder who can make me a custom pipe from my airbox to my turbo.

That's where I'm at right now. I'll update again, soon.

Well, I'm sorta on the fence with selling her. Good thing is I'd be selling her to a friend. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

So, I sold her to my buddy. I'll help him get her up to snuff but she's no longer my May. I'll keep posting her progress once we get things going but eventually my bud will take over this post, at least I hope...

I hope so, too. I told him I'd help him work on May and I suggested he continue this thread in the future. I'll update it until she's completely ready to set sail on the trails.

I gave him everything I amassed for this project, everything. Lots of new parts and salvaged parts.

He texted me earlier and said he replaced the power steering hose that was leaking onto the brand new alternator . I pointed out all of the things that need addressing so hopefully we'll get to them sooner than later.

He's selling her, fellas. I don't want to get sad again so I'm trying to avoid asking about her and her sale status. This will be my last post on this thread. I'll be concentrating on my 3rd Gen from here on out.
