Lol. I've done the same thing! Kept a notebook with what I've done and prices next to each thing. And I haven't done a whole lot but it adds up quick!

Ok so I have an issue! I started getting a loud clunking sound from under the truck when reversing. It only happens in reverse and goes away when I press the clutch. I can also feel a little lach or play when moving in first gear from a dead stop. So my first guess was bad u joints. So last night I remove the shaft only to find that the u joints look fine ...they look like they've been replaced before! So I put the truck in h4 and reversed without the drive shaft on ...still made the clunking noise. I'm assuming there is too much back lash in the rear diff. ....possibly... worn bearings?broken tooth? Idk....anyone have an idea??

Here's a video of the amount of back lach in the rear diff. And a video of me backing up with no DS and you can hear the noise I'm talking about.

Any input is apreciated!¡!¡

Sounds like it might be a bad bearing....pinion perhaps. I don't recall if those were replaced when put the locker in?

They were not replaced when we did the locker. I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from the tranny. I will look into it more tomorrow. Maybe all the offroad abuse has caught up with my clutch!

Ok, so there hasn't been a process of elimination for where the sound is coming from? Thought that already happened by the post of the pinion free play video. Ok, keep us posted please... If I didn't have so much to do tomorrow, I'd cruise up and help diagnose with you. I'll research transmission cost and transfer case as well. T-case can be had for $100.00 or so...if that's the problem. Though it didn't sound like the clutch.

Loving the 'Runner, it's coming along great!

Any plans for a lift/tires?

Oh and I think a snorkel will make it look pretty mean!

Wellllll......

1inch body lift (to clear tires)

33 inch bfg km2s

Body lift was pretty straight forward...

Remove seats
Pull up carpet
Loosen body Mount bolts
Lift body
Place spacers and new hardware
Tighten
Done!

Because it was only an inch no need to relocate radiator and no need for steering extension.
Lift was provided by wabfab. Comes with hardware and 10 spacers.

Pics...

Passenger side body mounts

You have to reuse the original washers...I used a deep socket and hammer to remove them.

This is the front mount with the spacer in.

End result...still had to pound and trim inner fender and pinch weld but I love the outcome.
