Glad I could help I know the Magnaflow sounds amazing on the 3.0, but I haven't heard one on the 22re.

So I was looking at my muffler today just to see how bad it has gotten. I knew there was a small hole in it before, but it has gotten a whole lot bigger Then I decided to look at the whole exhaust. I found that the gasket between the downpipe and the cat has a hole in it and a chunk of weld that holds the O2 sensor flange has chipped/rusted away, leaving a small hole. The gasket between the cat and downpipe is going to be replaced when I do the straight pipe. Either my dad or I will fix that weld

This might be a stupid question: Will a muffler with a center/offset configuration sound different than one with an offset/offset configuration? Everyone seems to like the Magnaflow 11225 with the center/offset design, but I think it would be easier to have the offset/offset design of the 11235, just like the factory muffler. I just don't want it to sound different than whats proven to sound good.
Maybe I'm just overthinking this again

I meant I don't want the offset/offset magnaflow to sound different than the center/offset magnaflow. My current muffler sounds awful

Muffler ordered. Got the offset/offset. I'm going to the auto parts store after school to price some elbows and lengths of pipe. I have yet to find an exhaust tip I like. Why is it so hard to find a 2.25" inlet, round, single wall, straight cut, non-rolled edge tip with a larger outlet diameter?

Old muffler:

Magnaflow: $70.88

Only needed one 45 degree bend and a coupler: $10.58. I realize now that I could have only used one 45 degree that had 2.25" inside diameter on each end...

Two exhaust clamps: $0.67 each from work (If you haven't noticed by now, my discount is awesome)

One can of high temp flat black was a little over $2.00. 7.5' of 2.25" diameter pipe: $18.92 from Napa (my brothers employee discount). Total cost: A little over $104.

I have no pics of it finished yet

As for performance, it sounds great. It should sound better when it's broken in. I haven't noticed any decreases in torque or increases in power. It's all about the same, just louder. Without the cat, it now smells how a real vehicle should smell

Also picked up this Craigslist score on Friday. Most low profile boxes have a shallow bottom. This one is deep. I've been watching on CL for one of these for months. My local Advance Auto sells a low profile box for $150, but it's like a tin can. A decent one is $250 or more new. I got this one for $50. It pays to be patient.

I had never heard of Premier Products before, but with some quick research, it turns out they filed for bankruptcy a while back and were bought out by Daws Better Built.

It didn't come with keys, but it did come with mounting hardware, which didn't work for me since I have a drop in bed liner. But I got a new cam lock and two j-bolts from work for $3.65

The bed liner has these holes on each side so I figured a j-bolt would hook in there and up through the box.

Total investment $53.65. No more tool chest held in by rachet straps. I don't know if I'm going to paint it black or not.

This has nothing to do with the actual questions but I just thought it was funny that you blurred out the license plate number on the picture that's taken the farthest away. Yet on the other pictures, which are close ups, you didn't. Just thought I'd share that. Nice truck by the way I have a 92 standard cab manual 4x4 with like an 1 1/2" lift on the back.

Thanks! With my old tags, I'd sometimes blur out the plate number. I don't think I've blurred any of the pics with new tags. I've just forgotten to do so before posting. I guess it wouldn't make too much of a difference if I started doing it now

So I started on my CB install. My dad had two GE cb radios laying around and told me I could use one. He also had an antenna and coax cable, though the cable isn't long enough. The antenna is pretty old so I might just get a new antenna, probably a Firestick II or Firefly. I'm not sure which yet. Leaning more towards the Firestik II. The cb I chose also has a PA function so I'm gonna get a cheap speaker.

I've ran the power wires already, but I'm not going to cut out behind the ashtray and install the unit until I get all the wires run.

This may be a silly question because I've read how important coax length is for CB radios. Most jumper leads for SWR meters are 3'. But I have some CB coax cable already. It's about 9' long. Would it be ok to use that cable to do the tuning since I already have it?

I was told that the optimal length is 18 feet. I think a lot of it has to do with the ground plane. If you want the number to my life new favorite CB radio guy, Alberto Benucci, I will gladly send it to you. Just let him know what you were trying to figure out and he will explain it perfectly I promise.

Well the longer cable isn't going to work out. My dad had two mounts and both had so much corrosion around the connections. It took a pair of channel locks to get the one off, but by that time, the connection was all chewed up and broken. I'm just gonna get a new stud and mount assembly and a 3' jumper.

Thanks though!
