I'm not locked in the front. If it wasn't for my recent tool box purchase I would have ordered an ARB locker. Honestly I wouldn't do any LSD lockers and just save up for the last locker you have to buy- ARB. You can get just about any locker for the front 7.5 diff as you could for the rear 8 diff. You just have to buy accordingly

He mentioned something to me about taking you up to Cleghorn. Never been there before but it looks fun. It was just as a precaution because John bull is pretty hard. Although if that's what you would like to do. I'm all game for trying it out hahaha.
Are u running 2 lockers? And winch? I can't remember?

I sent you a couple private messages. I am in no way trying to talk you out of anything... I just think that John Bull , while definitely doable with long travel as I've seen it... Many do it with one locker and several have done it with open diff... I just don't want you to spend too much of your day struggling to get through this or that. The only reason I mentioned Cleghorn to Richard is because throughout that fairly long trail or trails, there are a lot more opportunities to take another line. But, definitely doable! A lot of it is just straight out based upon experience.

Holcomb and Dishpan can be just as bad and many think Dishpan is worse than JB...

Hey man, how long til you're down Chef's way? And where's your trip taking you after that? It'd be awesome to meet you and shoot the bull, but I don't see anyway to get away from home since my Subie spun a rod bearing and my Runner is still 2wd!

Hey RedWagon,.....
We're down with whatever you wanna do. You look it all over and decide. I just want you to have more fun than anything. And, you know what that beast can and can't do.

It goes pretty well. This is a tough choice.
I'm sure it will be fun either way.
I'm in LA now. Disneyland tomorrow. Did universal studios today.
Saturrday wheeling!

Wooooot! Lol... Nice time of year to be in Los Angeles/Orange counties...
Have a great time at Disneyland man... I haven't been there in probably a decade! .... Come to think of it, I'm going to have to do something about that pretty soon! I've always had a good time there. I used to love Magic Mountain, but it's so full of gangsters and trash all the time, the last few times I've gone at least. The rides are fun though. Knotts Berry Farm is a lot of fun and some pretty good food if you go to the right place... Plus you can always get yourself some of their kick butt Jam! You just gotta love the people that invented the boysenberry! I have been to some really good concerts there as well.
I got your message... I will get back to you here shortly. Have fun man!

Disneyland iis awesome. I've not been since 96 when I was sixteen. I liked it even more this time. Im going to rock a Mickey Mouse sticker on my truck to add to the collection. You've got quite a few too ehh Mark?
I did not enjoy Universal Studios rides much. Even watching 3-D movies messes with me. My eyes try to focus through it and it gives me a headache. Throw motion in and I want to hurl. I was worried I wouldn't like rides anymore but rollercoasters are fine. I did like the Star Wars ride still. The Transformers riide though..... ugh... The parts I had my eyes open for where pretty sweet.
Tomorrow is California Adventure.
Magic Mountain Thursday. However, is it still full of sketchy ppl? I remember that too Chef. Is it better this time of year?
The two trail options are in what area of California? I need tto book a place to stay near them so I don't get lost and make it late.
Saturday is going to be sweet.

Woot! Glad you're having a blast! I agree when it comes to 3d movies... Avatar is the only good experience I had with that on 3d IMAX. But recently I saw a couple others and I was disappointed and annoyed. The problem also is that you see the reflection of your eyes on the glass from the projector behind you! Lol...
We took a friend to see Battle LA, the one where the aliens invade... He threw up 15 minutes into it because the motion was really getting to him. He has equilibrium issues that caused it.
See you saturday buddy!

I just read some reviews on Big Bear trails. Myy vote is to try a tough trail and hhopefully work uup to finnishiingg with the John Bull trail if we have been doing well all day and can gget an idea on how successful we would be in an attempt.
I want tto try the Rubicon and as John Bull is called the mini Rubicon I'd likee a crack at it.

>.< John bull is a pretty long trail; we took most of the day there and it was already getting dark when we had left.. Granted we did waste about 4.5 hours in the last trip there due to breaking down. But you get what i mean. It may be possible to rack up enough time, if we leave early enough, to get there in time to try out one that is easier then go to john bull.
Whatever you want im cool with that. You will definitely put that pretty winch of yours to use haha
Also. Im not sure if you're interested. but my next door neighbor still has his sons front IFS axle in his back yard from when they SAS'd his rig. I know it has an Auburn-Gear locker in there and am not sure on the condition or what gearing is in it. But if you are interested i can ask and see if he's willing to sell it for cheap or donate it to you. That might be a well worth while upgrade to snag out of that axle and drop into yours if you want to do John bull. It will make things so much easier on you.
Do you know how to install lunchbox lockers? i cant remember. Either way, i'll ask my neighbor today when i get off work.

John Bull is really not so long... On either side of it leading up to it and after that one nasty inclined it is Holcomb pass/trail....IIRC anyway. .. But the bottom line is that once you head up the first thousand yards of John Bull, you are pretty much committed and it only gets nastier in my humble opinion past the initial incline. Its really in those first turns that are basically 45 degrees angle backtrack during an incline... Those are the nastiest parts as far as getting stuck. The rocks are their own type of nasty, but all of it is challenging and its own way. No matter what, it's always interesting. Lol.

Actually guys. Ruben also let me know that rather then going in john bull through the way we did it last time he said to enter from the other side so we get mostly down hills on those nasty parts. He said that would ve easier for RedWagon to get through with only one locker.
