Hmmm... I will have to look at the trail gear mount, but my first inclination is to weld, but if you aren't happy with the placement down the road it just creates more work. U bolt would work, definitely makes life easier, I don't think welding is any more secure against theft really.

Haha, just saw the cad drawing. I use my note 3 for designing all my stuff too you think you want it where your head tends to wander by the tailgate? Nothing wrong with that spot! Just... well... ouch

thats why i asked is i dont know where it put the stupid thing. do you have any ideas? i would flip the jack if i mounted there so i would only have to worry about the foot on the jack and the base if i dont remove it.

Exactly my thoughts, under the railing, not on top so you can still put a canvas back. Just what I would do. Hi lifts don't make very good bumpers down low.

Thanks, I won't be able to work on snow white till the weekend

As for hi lift ideas, I like your first one, I don't like the second one because since its on the inside of the rack ull have to fanagle it if you are standing outside to get it out or you'll have to hop in the bed to he it out.

Another idea is this

Mounting it at an angle with the base of the hi lift in the bed below bar 3 and the top of the hi lift mounted on the middle of bar 2 before it bends inward.

As for a temp mount you could use a u bolt on the bar with a flat piece of metal and then weld a bolt or rod to it so the lift could Mount on. Not Sir on a bottom mount would have to see inside of the bed

Ok so I changed the hilift mount again.... I am going to mount it on the inside of the bed rack rail on the angle iron. It fits perfectly there with two inches two spare I am going to back the base plate up to the tool box with a qu rather inch gap so that way no one can take it off. I hope this will be the last time I change it.

its dirty but in pretty good condition i hope
one of the the aisin hubs would only turn half the distance it took to go from free to lock so today i was bored and just took it apart just for grins right now untell i get the order from lowrange and stuff then i will strip and repaint. any ways back to the hub. IT WAS FILLED WITH OIL!!!! so i drained most of it and pulled it apart and wiped it down then greased and re installed and it works great! so i guess it does help to have the right things for the job

i also got to use my truck today in physics Name: 271BD7FB-99F9-4EC5-892C-970D9BA3298B_zpslswtzidz.jpg

Well i got the parts for the sas ordered from low range offroad and got the trail gear 3 inch ifs eliminator kit with some add on's. Im going to french in the front hangers to get rid of some lift and better approach. And on the subject of lift i might remove two leafs at least until it settles a little. Im hoping the stock 31's (measures 29) will not look to small at least for now until i can build my funds back up and buy some 33 or 35. But that could be a while. Back to the axle i am rebuilding it new bearings, seals, rock rings, and rebuilding the hubs and painting the hubs after finding that there was oil being run in them. I will also be doing the v6 caliper and rotter conversion because i have them and its better.

Just another project to do. I need to get that bumper finished and on . This is the last week of school for seniors so maybe when i have time next week i can get that bumper done. We will see.
