Replaced my Trail-gear TRE's tonight. TG SUCKS........ Im soo displeased with what i put on at the moment.

Can't believe my TRE's, spring bushings, are completely SHOT after less than 8 months, with barely a handfull of trail runs on them, mostly road driving. The springs seem like they are pretty close to flat as well and My tie rod is bent, guessing from contacting while flexing, which i might leave for now, but i may replace the rod soon.

Threw in new marlin TRE's in place of the two that were worn, and have all new spring bushings since mine are TOAST......... At the moment, i am feeling like i will never order from TG again, except maybe for their ARP knuckle studs...

For S&G's though..
May i present you with 42" iroks.....

Rubs if i hit speed bumps too hard at the mall..

42's are way to impractical to me. It was funny getting looks with them though, and the 3.4L pulls them greatly.

It would rub if i turned the wheel to full lock and accelerated too quickly..

Thats my buddy thomas's driveway. How it sits EVERYtime i am there.

85xtra cab- either 39.5or 42" iroks
86 4runner- sas'd with goodies
85 extra cab- 2wd work truck
2009 tundra- stock
90 4runner - mine, on ghey old 35's

Thats what it is like everytime i am there, not to mention when his cousin is over or father in law, or anyone else. It ranges from other 2nd gen pickups that are built, stock tacomas, other 4runners.

Its always toyotas basically..

I haven't noticed anything TREs yet but my spring bushings are getting worn out. Maybe it is why MC kit is more money... better stuff...lol...

Yea i hear you jeremy..

it sucks man, i was so stoked on my TG kit for up until recently. So i recommened it to a few people.

I ordered bushings and tre's from marlin to fix those problems, the springs are alright for now... They just sagged a bunch.

I'm currently running SuperLift 4.5HD all around, but the fronts have sagged Extremely badly. I ended up adding 2" lift shackles to level it again. I'm guessing this is due to the Heavy winch and bumper I'm running. But I'm expecting to switch to Marlin's 4" or 5" fronts in the near future.

Btw Great Looking Rig!!!

Thanks man.

Idk, i think the best bet would be do do a custom RUF pack. My buddy has his with a HEAVY bumper, winch combo... and how his is built he clears 42"s..

Rides really good too, that is what i would have done if i were to do it again.

RUF is the only option i will consider. Many people ive talked to have broke numerous pairs of MC springs. Got tired of shiping them back for another set just to break them again.

By the way, mike, your runner is what i want to copy and paste to my driveway. haha. I will be picking your brain later on the 3.4 swap for sure.

Wheel on!!!!

Yea... it sucked.. lol

The worst part was limping on the shoulder at 5mph.. and having 1204780234802598301294851958071 people in the bay area drive by me looking..

Plus down in davis where that happened. NO tire shops had a 35-37" in a 15" wheel available. THe les schwab could have gotten me some 35" km2's the following afternoon, but they wanted like $1200 for 4 tires mounted and out the door..

My buddy Thomas and his wife drove down 3 hrs and brought me two tires, and wouldn't let me pay for anything.. Talk about good friends!!

So i am buying these 35" xterrains on wheels fro $550 and they are almost new.

Looks sick with those huge tires. I love the 39.5s I just got for mine. Much bigger and nicer than the 37s not to mention just look sick. However right now I have stock BS wheels as when I sold my 37's the guy still has my wider wheels. Ill get them back once im ready to go out. My tires rub the frame in the back when flexing Lookin good dude

tell me about it fill.. LOL

I had money to buy some 39.5's iroks on 2.5" bs wheels for wheeling and i was going to keep those 35's on for dd'ing.. but now that i need new "street" tires im gonna go with these i think, i think i can buy the iroks in the next couple months if i save up for it.

We were searching locally and i found some BRAND new 30sp longs for sale for $550 and im gonna buy them and trade my buddy straight up for these 35's..

But then again i do have money for longs/35's but... we will see where this is gonna go, weve been switching around tires. Thomas has two vehicles his pickup and his wifes 4runner for wheeling.. the 4runner had these pro comps on it, so we are gonna put the 42" iroks back on the pickup and the 40"s on the 1st gen runner and i get hte 35"s.. So his wife needs the longs more than i do with only 35's..
