So we ended up making it through the rubicon trail 2x.. wheeled from loon lake to the springs and then back to loon lake for the trailer..

Ran into a few small problems with tomas's rig but nothing mechanical.. Powersteering line and soem electrical problems but were fixed and we continued without a problem after.

Messed around a little today...

So i ended up blowing up my lockright a week ago which took out my ring gear. So i ended up getting a welded 5.29 for a temp setup.. and i like it MUCH better than the lockright....

I ran a lockright out back and i liked it at the time, but now with the welded rear i actually won't run another lunchbox type locker out back again. My deal with the autolocker was this. It clicks Around every turn, which is tolerable but gets irrating after a while. and it had a tendency to unload at random times while driving which made it kind of sketchy. I didn't have a problem with it in the 2 years i ran it except for broken pins. I was talking with zuk and we came the the conclusion that when the locker finally broke (sheered the pins i believe) the shock load of it is probably what took out my ring gear..

Im going to stick with welded, spooled, or selectable locker out back from now on.

As far as a full detroit locker goes, they are supposedly SILENT lockers and they perform just about the same way as an lockright/aussie would and they are supposed to be a lot stronger. But. they come with a pretty hefty price tag.. You could send a couple hundred more and get an arb.. or get two lockrights for the price of one full detroit locker.

If you are driving on the street and concerned about tire wear, then i would advise against a spool/welded.. at least the autolocker unlock in turns and save your tires.

I LOVE my Detroit, would not trade it for anything. Never had a problem with it unlocking at random times, whoever told you that must have been talking about a detroit EZ Locker which is similar to the Lockright style. I highly reccomend one to anyone that is thinking of purchasing one.

Ok thanks mike. And yah tire ware is an ishue for me so i need a auto locker, it seemed to me that the detroit would be stronger and i dont mind spend a couple bucks for a nice quiet solid locker. O what do you think about those E lockers up front?
