Did you make up your mind yet if you were putting the headers on before or after you get the engine in the bay? I remember bringing your attention to a thread before about the starter/header interference but cannot remember in which order.

my plan is to do the AFTER.....reasoning is I don't want to snag and bang them on stuff on the way in.

still kinda up in the air about it. the only starter issue I saw was the heat.

No no I thought that thread had mentioned about the starter being a real PITA (more then it was originally taking it out) with the thorley's in there. Meaning put starter in first then that sides header.

he cant put the starter in till the engine is in with the tranny anyways.
+1 do the starter once the engine is in place than the headers. i mean you can do the starter afterwards but it be much easier the other way around

OK...I follow that. yeah...that's actually my plan anyways.....starter then header.

did some running around...took that puller back to auto zone and bought.......nothing.

did do some stuff this morning before heading out....namely, pt the fan pulley on and fan base / clutch and cleaned up the piping that is all the vacuum stuff and stuff.....

of course...some pics

a reference pic but also a BEFORE shot

then degreased it and painted it with good rusty metal gloss black

and how it looks now, except it's hanging in the garage

woke up this morning thinking today we would put it in.....then got an idea to organize the garage a bit and it turned into a pretty good project with me and joe and some help from jeff....then cut the grass...swimming...BBQ...then we all went out for ice cream...something we haven't done in a very long time (over a year)....so it was a good day anyways.

Yeah sorry Jerry, truck in the shop and I have been helping my mom move from a place that she lived in for the past 35 years. Otherwise you KNOW I would be there.

yes. the header studs. i wanted to get them on now instead of arguing with them when the motor was in. I guess I could easily just put 11 in and wait for #12
