No pics but I did get the tach mod done thanks to a friend/co worker and got my interior back together other than the ecu and glove box area.
still working on the exhaust so the engine isn't fully seated...
waiting on an axle rebuild kit from marlin crawler so I can reassemble and mount the front axle.
tossed a spare 4cyl 4.10 diff in the rear so I can make it mobile again and might run it till I can get a locked V6 3rd to handle the 3.4

got some more done...
got my marlin front axle rebuild kit last week
swapped over the 3.0 oil pan w/ new gaskets
got my frame tube shackle mounts even and square
hung the front springs
shackle angle looks good (4" shackle plates on stock 84 front sprinsgs)
front axle set in place
and finally got the rest of my dash back together and the wiring tucked away
little guy helping

I would imagine the stock springs would definitely keep the height reasonable, it seems like you have been doing nice scoring used parts! Out this way toyota parts are more valuable than gold.
Im sure your little one is having a good time wrenching!

yeah I just happen to be the right place at the right time a lot of the time.
both of my boys enjoy being in the garage with me and ask hundreds of questions about what i am doing and what this and that is just like i used to do with my dad so I hope they take up some of my interests... they are both ready to go wheeling for sure

This is a great build-up for sure. Definitely enjoying reading through your thread.
Only thing I am thinking may be an issue is the front springs. It is very common to see them negative arch from the factory over time. I am worried that the added weight of trying to hold up a 3.4 will make them arch quickly.

I have already taken the extra weight into consideration and removed to bottom leaf and added 2 more arched leafs so it should sit flat when done since they gave the previous truck about 1.5" of lift

yes they were 33x10.5x15 BFG ATs and the best tire i have owned!
the frame is still on stands and the axle is just placed under the springs for now to set the wheel base and steering placement the shackle should swing back a few more degrees when the weight is applied

Got some more work done on the 4runner nothing really picture worthy but I got the AC compressor pulley swapped and mounted to the motor and also got the power steering pump installed just need a custom high pressure line... Almost ready to test fire but have a few more loose ends but getting very close... Also got some more done with the solid axle swap got my front hanger positioned where I want it and tacked in place and cleaned the housing up some more.
