4runFreak's '87 4runner build up thread

Hey guys, I am new to yotatech so it took me a little bit to learn the way things work but here I am. I am 15 and this summer I bought a 1987 4runner. The guy told me all it needed was a timing chain. Simple. So I got the chain and started tearing my engine down, I get to the oil pump and its filled with shrapnal as I keep going the teeth on the gears are broken and the head gaskets blown, Any way now im in the process of rebuilding. Any ideas I will keep in mind and I will post pics as I can.

Now that I got this site all figured out I can start asking for help. Thanks guys pics to follow
