just be sure not to hook up any wires for the trac at the ecu and you shouldnt have any problems ..havent run mine yet but this is what i was told ..

The OBD1 computers may not be as smart then. As I have a code for it. I don't remember the code bit its for the sub throttle circuit low I think.

I was wondering about that with the two speed pump and gas mileage RMA. I do still have the resistor for it so I guess I could add it in later. O an did u get that pic of the speed sensor.

Shaggy, I'm curious how you got rid of the error codes for the missing auto trans. I've red somewhere that you can use a 15 ohm resistor rated for 20 watts wired in place of each of the four auto trans solenoids. Is that what you did or do you have another way? Congrats with the successful build. I'm aspiring to do the same. Thanks

Awesome build. Thanks for putting so much good info on your 1UZ swap. I've been gathering parts for my swap for a few months now and I only have a couple of things left before I down and dirty. You should look forward to me asking you some questions about the details.

Zerovalence right now I just took the electronics out of the tranny. Im gonna use resistors for the tranny and the sub tps. And if I can't get the resistors to work I can always just make a air tight box to put them in an put it on the left finder. Was thinkin maybe a 5VZ charcoal canister. So it dose not look to out of place. And yeah man get going it isn't really to hard of a swap to do. If u do it like dunkin did there is no fab work really. Where me on the other hand I never do things the easy way. Not even the wiring is that bad just kinda kind numbing

IPA thank you and yeah any help u may need I will help as much as I can. R u going to use a OBD2 as well. I like it more because it runs a MAF and not a VAF. man I hate those things.

Yeah, I'm living in the Capital Hill area. When I started looking for a donor car I couldn't find one for under $1000. I'm doing it the hard way. I picked up the engine with the harness and computer out of a 96 LS400 for $400. I've been collecting odd and end parts for a couple of months now. I've got everything to get started except the way to connect the engine to my transmission. I haven't decided weather I want to go with the adapter plate to the 1UZ bellhousing or go with the bellhousing you went with. Cost will be the most important factor in my decision. For now I'm going to run the Flywheel from Quantum Auto. They just use a Toyota v6 flywheel and machine it to fit. Did you think about doing the Adapter plate instead of the whole bellhousing? And how do you like the one you got?

I am going to try and do the OBD2 but I only have the engine harness from the 96. The local salvage yards have a couple LS400's and I found a SC400 as well but they are all pre 94. I don't know when they started the OBD2 and I haven't pulled any of these body harnesses yet. I have pulled a 95 4runner harness out of the Pull and Pay so I can do all my wiring before I have to put my 4runner down. I'm going to start my own thread soon but I've been moving so slow I would feel bad for anyone who would want me to post often. It's hard to get a lot done in the few hours in the weekend I have to work on things.

and if you do go with the obd1 you will need to go an get an obd1 engine harness as they are not the same. all in all i think if you can get the e11 connector you will be able to make the harness. it is 3 shilded wires 4 powers and 3 grounds i think you will use

I am still looking for a OBD2 body harness. Just for the OBD2 connector and maybe the O2 connectors as well. I hope to come across one soon. Right now I am putting together the PDF wiring harnesses from the factory service manuals I've found online. I am mostly just separating the one's I've found into individual pages and putting them back in they'er original page order. I'll post them soon. I'm done with the 95 4runner FSM and I'm working on the 95 LS400 FSM right now. If you know of any body wiring harnesses with OBD2 let me know.

R u putting it in a 95 runner? If so I have all the diagrams off of tis. Your more then welcome to them I can pit them on disc. I don't have a harness other then the one out of my donor and its all cut up. You coups use a dlc from any car an run ur own pins in it. There are only 3 wires in mine. Power ground and ecm signal

My runner is a 90 but I'm upgrading to a 95 body wiring harness. I have all the diagrams but I'm just putting them in order. I got all my stuff off of the links from the forums. I wont be working on the truck this weekend because I'm headed up to Holy Cross for some wheeling. Gotta have some fun once in awhile. Right?
Sorry, what's a "dlc"? Is this the connector?

dlc (data link connector) that's ok. The older trucks have the.its the little box by the fuse box in ur truck I so believe. The older cars obd1 use flash codes by jumping terminal te and e1 I think. It's been some tome.since I have done it. And 95 and up is obd2 you use a scan tool and get p codes ie P0420 catalyst below threshold. Common subie code. It makes diagnosis much easier. I'm not sure if the harness out of a 95 will work in a 90 any reason y your are going this way.

I just double checked and it's really a 94 harness. (my bad) The harness was the best I could find at the salvage yard and the closest to my 90 harness. I've checked everything as I was pulling it and everything that I saw looked the same. The only thing I'm keeping on mine is the heater and a few switches anyway. I'm even swapping the gauge console to the one that went with the harness. It has the speedo with the speed sensor instead of the cable mine has.
My goal is to wire up the OBD2 connector to use. My brother has a SnapOn scanner that I would love to use with this project.

It dose help out a lot. Have u ever been to jims? I got a dash harness for 50 bucks out of a 95 22re Sr5 I never did use it its just sitting in my box of harnesses. I'll end up using it at one point or tradeing it in on credit.
