1987 XtraCab small mods
Just thought I'd show some of my fixes and mod to my 1987 XtraCab pickup
Not planning anything crazy yet, just a few little things here and there to make it a better rig than it currently is!
Today I decided to fix my droopy door with a little backyard fix
Basically it hung a bit low after some flexing off road and could still close but you had to lift and shut.
So grabbed some washers, unbolted the bottom hinge and slid them in between
I hope to get a replacement hinge one day from a scrapyard but this will save the clasp components for the time being

So finally got around to installing my new leaf springs
I purschased a set a of Old Man Emu Dakar leafs from http://raddcruisers.ca/
a while back with ubolts, shackles, bushings and nitrocharger sport shocks
cost what seemed to be an arm and a leg at the time but once they were in it was all worth it.
I noticed that I had substantial sag in the rear end and some somewhat light wheeling resulted in a broken leaf in the pack worsening the whole situation. It was time to replace
this what I started out with:

the new parts all ready to go
greasable anti-inversion shackles OME, greasable hanger pins, leafs, bushings and ubolts

Blew my clutch slave cylinder this weekend mid way through a parallel park, had to finish it off Flintstone style haha. Had to leave it downtown over night. Tried to limp it home by stopping every once and a while to fill up my reservoir but it was so far gone I couldn't even get it in gear once. Got a tow home and hit up Lordco for the part. Got a BeckArnley slave and swapped it in that day.
Pretty straight forward, only problem I came across was the flare fitting to the slave wouldn't spin on the line. A quick soak in some Moovit and it was good to go.
