Thanks guys, sorry but no work has gotten done on the runner in the last few days. I did order the NGK ignition stuff, plugs wires, cap and button. Bought the fuel filter, and thermostat. And ordered the clutch kit from Wabfab. As soon as the clutch comes in I should be stuffing the motor in. I plan to clean and prep the tranny this week.

Crappy pic but here is the motor going in.

Got the wiring all hooked up. And a few other little things done. But here some pic of it sitting in it's home.

Wife gave permission to pick up quite a bit of stuf tomorrow.
Air filter
High pressure power steering line remade at car quest
Dual battery ground
5/32" vacuum line
1/4" vacuum line
5/16" vacuum line
3/8" vacuum line
26/32" (13/16") heater core line
3/8" power steering line
5/8" power steering line
Radiator hoses
Battery (sears) platinum pm2 group size 34

With any luck I might be able to start her up next weekend. But I don't know, fluids will probably run a few hundred. So it may have wait another few weeks.

I have an idea on making a jig to lengthen the rear drive shaft myself. I think I am going to order the tube I need, and use a double cardan joint from an IFS front driveshaft I have. It may not be balanced perfect. But with the doulble cardan joint on the front of it, it really should not matter. And that will get me on the road at least

Wiring question for those that may know. On the EFI harness by the injectors, I have a white/red stipe wire that broken. I do not see anywhere that it would have went to. And I do not see it on the schematic. Any idea what it goes to? Also anyone know of anywhere I can some fuel injector plugs, no 1 & 4 could really use to be replaced.

Thanks

white wires are usually ground. look for a "washer" on the end of a wire that might have space for it. something like this:

If you contact him personally, I am sure he can give you more information. He is an electrical engineer.

Your truck keeps looking better each time I see it and probably nicer then it was when new.

If this is the wire you are talking about. It is on my 87 flatbed. It is to this plug and not hooked to anything. If this isnt the one you are talking about let me know and I will see if I can find another one. This was the only one I could find. Not the best pic.

Yep that's the wire. Was under the truck tonight and remembered two connectors that were not connected to anything. Now I only have one. Thanks for looking man.

I have been unable to find what it hooked to. Figured it was for 4 wheel drive or some option I didnt have like Cruise Control. Glad I could help.

The other one you are talking about. Is it like a white plug with 2 connectors that go to it? One of mine isnt plugged up either, if it is that by chance.

Yep ill see if I can get a picture of them tonight while tranny is still out. I think they might have been for an auto tranny option. That is about the only thing I can think. Later

Here is mine, one is plugged and one is empty. The other one, I dont have hooked up either. You are probably right about the auto tranny.

Sure felt lik a shame to cover the engine up with all that spaghetti, but oh we'll, maybe latter I will invest in some stuff to pretty it up. But not right now. I need to get this thing on the road. Weather is getting a little cold on the Harley.

If I could get the clutch I think If i could get it on the road this weekend.

Not much more and I will be at a stand still. Radiator is in, I will pick it up tomorrow, put it in, maybe some fluids, and work on the rear drive shaft.

May not seem like much but the engine bay is wrapped up and the hood is on. Lord willing for the last time. Body panels still need to be lined up a little better.

Aftermarket radiator does not fit as goods the stock, but it was fairly cheap and has a lifetime warenty. It leans in towards the engine at the top and sits about a 1/2" higher than the stock one did.

Not planning on doing anything tomorrow except spend time with the family, watch football, and eat. Clutch will be in Friday, so hopefully friday the tranny and transfer case will be in. I hope to have the drive train together this weekend. Then have to wait on the funds for fluids.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The 22re radiator does lean in at the top, I can't comment about the 1/2" height difference. The leaning in thing I noticed when I did my Efan mod. When I swapped it to the v6, that radiator does not lean.

Great job, truck is gorgeous.

Thanks Slacker always means a lot coming from ya.

RBX, I was real worried about closing the hood on it. But it does fit. The leaning forward kinda gets in the way of the intake air tube.

Later guys
