I'm liking the gray too! Looks a bit lighter than the factory charcoal metallic. Looks like u did great on the body work too!

Thanks for the props guys. I'm really liken the gray to, I think it's a little darker than Massy Fergison grey and I've always liked it. Yeah masking sucks, but not as much sanding, at least until I learned to wet sand everything. I didn't even remask after wet sanding the epoxy.

RBX, it's single stage acrylic urethane. I went with it so that future repairs would be easier than with a clear. I sprayed it in my garage. Neighbors never say anything, even about running a grinder at midnight. They are real cool about stuff and always coming over to see what is going on. I asked if they could smell anything and they said no. And as far as over spray, with the hardener in it, the mist is just dry dust in few feet.

I got all the body panels on it tonight. And it really looks cool. But forgot to take any pics.

Thanks guys

Thanks fnrunner, I wish I had enough guts to spray a poly or metallic, but beings this was my first time thought I should stick with a solid color. And it was much cheaper than the poly, or metallics. The body work could be much better. And there are things I will probably fix later.

Still moving slow, but I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. The body is pretty much all together now. Which has been a real adventure trying to find all the little plastic clips and bits. I'm hoping to pick up the last of them tomorrow. Pretty much all of them just crumbled when I took the body apart.

I have been trying to find a suitable replacement for the weather striping were the top meets the cab. But I'm not having any luck. Anyone ever came up with anything that has worked.

I'm not looking forward trying to find new weather stripping for the door and windows. The old stuff will work for now.

Hopefully I will be able to spend next months budget getting finishing the engine and drive shafts. Hope for a test run to the mountains in it by mid November.

Oh yeah almost forgot, I still need to get a new wind shield installed.

And don't get to excited about the paint job it's a 10 footer. But much better than before. And I have a little less than $500 in all the paint and body supplies. Probably another $200 in all the plastic clip.

By far the most beautiful 4runner build i've seen. I have mad respect for you. Does anyone have any idea what kind of MPG I'm getting? I have 35inch KM2's with 5.29s, I try to accelerate as slow as possible to get better MPG.

Tinman what did you paint your rear bumper with? It looks like it has a nice matte finish.

Nope I'm pretty sure I'm married to her. Spend more time with her than the wife.

Rich, I used POR15 and POR15 chases black. I'm pretty much done with the POR stuff though. Way to expensive. Just clean your tube work real good, use a good self etch rattle can primer, like SEM brand. And then get a gallon of car quest brand tractor paint in low gloss black. It's cheap, easy to touch up, and looks about the same. POR 15 sucks over anything but unpainted rusty metal. Doesn't stick at all to new steel. Later

Got started on finishing the engine. I had I built once, but ended up using the top end on the 94 PU I bought.

Ordered a new set of heater inlet/outlet pipes from Toyota. I have three sets but they are garbage, so bit the bullet, $65 each.

Also ordered the Toyo head gasket and valve adjuster screws at the same time.

Ordered a engine gasket kit, 268 cam, sleeve-n-seal, and head bolts from EB.

Sent the injectors off to WitchHunter.

Ordered an adjustable cam gear, copper headers gasket, studs, and block off plates from LCE.

Had the exhaust mani resurfaced.

And started to powder coat all the engine bits. I'll post pic when the powder coating is done.

Can't wait to get the engine done and drive this thing. The weather is starting to get a little cold on the Harley.

I will still need to send the radiator off for a rework. Order a clutch from Wabbit. Find all the heater hoses, vacumme lines, two rounds of fluids. And order drive shafts.

Might b on the road by Christmass, but can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Took the afternoon off to watch football, and ended up sleeping through the first game.

Drew the window is glued in with the standard urethane. The rubber gasket slides over the window edge and the urethane glues it in also. Kind of a bad description but the best I can get ya.

I think I am just going to go with the stock clutch. I have a center force dual friction in the 94 and hate it. You can't get second gear until the clutch warms up.

Irab I can't wait to get it on the trail. But then I may be afraid to wheel it. Might get a scratch.

Later guys
