[QUOTE=Lono&theGremlin;52426474 Really dig your work so far, its been a really fun thread to follow lately. Good luck and keep it coming. Keep an eye out for my cab swap build thread coming soon. Aloha[/QUOTE]
Thanks for the info man. I actually am not doing the front end work myself. I am far from a welder and want this to be done correctly. Their is a local guy in Phoenix that runs a Toyota Mod Shop. He primarily does Toyota work with a few random exceptions. He's a cool guy I met on the trail one day. He's done this mod in the past and suggested the springs I am going to use. I don't know if is going to take the over load out or not. I will bring it up to him for sure when I see him though since another person also suggested the same thing. Thanks for the motivation for this thread. Sometimes I don't think anyone really reads it so I often just think about not updating it anymore. But I guess I will keep it up if people are interested. I'll make a post about the new work when it's completed. I drop the truck off on Monday and should get it back in a week or two with everything done. Wish me luck!
Right on. Oh yeah if you've got a guy who's done it the past with those springs then I'm sure he knows how it performs, or any tricks to tweak it one way or another. And even if it is kinda stiff, Old Man Emus are super tough, at least you know they won't break on you! But nah definitely keep posting! I'm sure there are a few others quietly watching haha. Especially with this next mod I'm wanting to see how it goes for when I get there. But yeah good luck with it all, can't wait to see!
My truck is over at GMG Fabrications getting my Rear Up Front Mod going in. I ended up having to buy a new oil pan to allow for clearance during flex with the cross over steering. And I am getting the IFS steering box rebuilt before it gets installed. But here is a picture of it from GMG Fabrications facebook page on the lift getting worked on.

I talked to Joe of GMG Fabrications, the guy who is doing the work, and he mentioned he will be taking out either one or both overload springs from the packs. It will be a trial and error but he already had thought of that. Thanks for bringing it up though. Good luck on your cab swap.
I got my truck back from GMG Fabrications out of Tempe, AZ. Did a flex test with what I had, my old tires. Did pretty well. I had a leak in my power steering lines so my truck is sitting for now. Seems like she’s now sitting more than moving.
After my RUF swap I was having issues with my power steering lines leaking at the pump. I tried to reseat it a few times and I couldn’t fix it for the life of me. Since I upgraded my radiator as well my power steering lines were kind of free floating in the air for awhile and on more than one occasion hit my fan.So instead of using the stock Toyota lines I decided to use Off-road Solutions power steering line. Works great.l I routed it under the engine a little bit and zip tied it out of the way. I
Drove it around for awhile with no issues.
Though I have been in correspondence with 4x4Labs for a few months now for a rear bumper it looks like it is almost here. When I contacted them they didn’t make a bumper for my truck but made one for a first gen 4Runner. The 4Runner is the same body shape but different bumper mounts so it wasn’t as easy as buying that bumper. After talking with Luke he agreed to make me a bumper as long as he could find a truck to build it on. He finally found one and these are the updated build picks he sent me.
It is going to have dual swing outs with a tire carrier for my 35” tire. And it will also have a carrier for three Jerry cans. I am going to do a few add-one when it gets here like a whip mount, a cb antennae Mount, and a rear trail light. Can’t wait for it to get here.
Trying to troubleshoot my A/C for the last few months and I didn’t have a high side port anywhere on the system. I believe it’s my expansion valve that is causing my issues. Since I will have the system breached for that I found it to be a great time to add the high side port. if you are in AZ Phoenix Valley, Aapak does great work.
So I got my new rear bumper from 4x4Labs. Since i’m In AZ and they are in CA they made me a bumper on a rig they had up there. Unfortunately it was a long bed not a short so I am having to some slight tweaks to the bumper to get it to fit under the bed. But other than that I am loving the bumper.
It will have a spare tire carrier and a three can Jerry can holder
Took her out on Apache Trail again since it recently reopened due to all the fires that were in the Superstition Mountain range. Since this was the first run with the A/C put back together, the bumper on, and the new power steering lines in I didn’t put her to hard. Just wanted to make sure nothing broke or fell off. She is running great but I am having some issues cooling at low sleeps. My fan shroud doesn’t fit very well around the blades so my next fix / upgrade is making a custom fiberglass shroud. If they doesn’t work electric fans might be in the future
