OME 2" Part Numbers

I am piecing together the parts for an OME 2" lift to replace my old sagging springs. My problem is that most sites say the front CS008FA/B springs are not compatible with my '85 Pickup 4WD. Is that not true? Also, is a trim spacer required for angle correction on a 2"? What was your complete OME package that you used?

Mike

When I look at that part on 4wheelparts, they say it isn't compatible. They have free shipping, though, which is nice.

I went with Rocky Road Outfitters as they offered a complete kit ('85 pickups are at the bottom of the page, I got the deluxe kit), and trying to piece together components seemed like a nightmare. I think the only other items I needed were a dropped steering drag link and longer links for the sway bar. I didn't bother shimming to correct for angle, and everything is working GREAT!

Thanks for the feedback. That helps a lot. I'm piecing just because I found a deal on Ebay for the rear springs with bushings and the shipping was high through Rocky Road. The same components through 4WheelParts had free shipping and the cost per part was comparable. Did you have to put on the dropped drag link before it was driveable, or was that a preference thing? Also, were the OME U-bolts a necessity or a nice-to-have?

When I did my 2" OME install, I thought the OME u-bolts were nice to have for the front since they have a flatter profile to help clear the drag link compared to standard ones. For the rear, any U-bolts should be fine. The stock draglink has worked fine for me for over 30k miles with the OME springs.

Thanks! i ordered the 2 front OME52 U-bolts that are recommended. I'm assuming that it only requires 2 since they are only needed on the driver's side. I also ordered the 4 rears and greasable shackles.

Where did you get your extended sway bar links? Do you have a part number?

I don't have a part number, I believe it is Skyjacker brand and if I remember correctly was sourced from a local 4wd shop. I'm not sure I'd recommend them since I had some trouble with the washers on one side. It's possible the washer failed because it was overtightened. I replaced it with one that looks hardened and haven't had problems since. Looks like mine have 6 1/2" spacers, and that may be an inch or so too much. Also I'd say the dropped drag link was a preference thing.
