algranger's 1984 Pickup Build-Up Thread

My own build thread whopee...
anyways heres my new 84 picked 'er up 2 weeks ago for $750 with a rod knock.

Teaser pic:

Currently sitting on 33" TSL's, lincoln locked rear, autolocker front, with a warn 8000 on a classic warn combo bumper, 12" bed bob, custom rear bumper, newer short block 22r, snorkel, stacked exhaust, waterproof dizzy, flex a lite e-fan, caddy air ride OBA

To start things off i dropped the oil pan and found a broken guide and this spring inside which i've concluded is the pressure reg. spring from teh oil pump.

Head off

Crankshaft.. it's the #4 rod that knocks its got a fair amount of slack.

I couldnt figure out how to remove the crankshft pulley bolt so i fabricated a tool real quick

Ready for new parts

And thats as far as i get this paycheck but the timing set and connector rod bearings will be here soon.

After i get 'er runnin good then starts the real fun
I plan on starting with the RUF swap and Chev. 63's rear.
Updates coming soon so stay tuned!

Yes my truck is a project! But doesn't mean it needs work.

okay thats a lie. yes it does.

Alex, were just mad at you cause you have a project as well as a daily driver. Thats why we hate you! and thats whey when we all get together as a group trail run. When your stuff breaks down, we leave you!

Enough with the yappin, wheres the updated pics???

Or, I could just be like, (March 21st) "yeah dude im on my way up to utah" He'd be like kool kool see ya there yada.
Then I just never leave cali and go up and wheel with mike.

Sounds like a plan to me

LMAO, that would be soooo mean. Have him drive forever and not show up. Oh, he would kick your arse. Idk, any bets on who would win a fight?

NVM, lets not go there

Well i hear scub is pretty short..
but any dispute is best settled by a wheel off and scub has bj spacers so i dont think i could beat him
