Update time! The truck is back on all fours and was able to take it for a lil spin around the block. I now live in the country so that's a four mile spin lol. Buttoned up the brake lines first thing and instead of buying extended brake line I just got some hard line to attach to the rubber lines. They were a lil longer than I wanted so I put a loop in them and attached them to the factory spot on the dust shields.

Threw a 33 on just to see what it would look like. Tons of room.

Then it was drive time! Got back with no hiccups other than very spongy brakes cuz they still need bled.

Found the dirt pile and tried out the flex. This is all the farther I could climb up the pile cuz the front driveshaft is out and it's just an open rearend but I'm pleased so far.

I wish that's all I had left to do lol. The list seems like it will never end. All I can hope for is to not run out of ambition. Haha I have a niece named adelyn. Most of my family spells madilyns name wrong.

The chain on the front cross member scares me a little... Very easy to pull those nuts right out of the frame.

Nice progress though! "test drives" Are always fun and nerve racking. Haha

The chain is just there from when I jacked the truck up to pull the axle out. It is not going to stay on there. I'm planning on building a plate bumper when I get to that point.

Me too. I'm afraid the driveshaft won't be long enough since I moved the axle forward

No real update on the truck but a buddy of mine found a sweet 2nd Gen truck hot wheel that he gave me. I never knew they made them.

Aaaand I sold my jeep cj5 this morning. It's a good feeling having some cash in my pocket but it was sad to see it go. Now off to craigslist to find a 4wd truck to get me thru the winter!

That's a cool hot wheels, I've never seen that one before either, I'm jealous, lol.

What kind of truck are you leaning towards getting?...I'd like to get me a work truck with our tax return this year, still working on the wife on that one, lol.

That is a great looking toy. I will see if I can find one. I have seen the 4Runner one also. That is the nice thing on those Jeeps is you can build them from a catalog. Toyotas you have to really work to find parts. Hope the new truck comes along for you just in time for winter. It will be here before you know it.

I'm kinda up in the air about what I want. I would really like to find and extended cab to haul the kids and it will have to be 4wd. I'm on a limited budget so it will have to be cheap. I've eyed a couple dakotas but I would rather have a bigger truck. I've been eye balling an 84 f250 with a diesel. Kinda have a soft spot for those trucks cuz that's what I grew up in but at the same time I'm a bit apprehensive cuz I want a truck that's starts reliably in the winter.

I have the matchbox 4runner as well. My jeep was a bit of an exception because it was an early cj5 and they aren't as popular so parts are harder to find. It has a shorter wheelbase and alot of the body parts don't interchange from the later ones. Ya hopefully I find a truck soon. I wish toyota made 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks back in the 80's and early 90's. Would make my decision easier.
