I'm surprised those fosgate speaker blew, seems like they were near industructable back n the day!

Look forward to seeing the new speakers/stereo installed!
Thanks Ed, playing the waiting game at this point. Got my own checking account last week and we decided that I would pay the house payment until child support is set up. Then she is going to try to buy the house after the divorce is finalized which is fine by me. I'm not terribly attached to it and don't want to live in town anyway. I'm kicking myself in the butt for not buying a cd player at the swap meet. There was a guy with about a dozen for sale asking $10 apiece. None of them had the metal sleeve or trim piece which is y I didn't buy one. After I got home I realized my truck already has a pioneer deck in it so I have the metal sleeve and trim piece. Oh well, such is life.

Sorry to hear about the divorce. Hope it goes smoothly for you. This is living in town is for the birds so maybe that will work out for you as well. I havent got to go to a swap meet in forever. I was single and had money in my pocket then. There are some really great deals there. Wish there were more of them more often.

Thsnks Terry. We've not had any hiccups with the process yet. Seem to be in agreement on all the decisions so far.
Got impatient and didn't want to order rear speakers then wait for them so I stopped at Wal mart and picked up some pioneers. Seem to be decent enough quality for $35.

Went ahead and installed them last night after work along with the cd player I pulled out of my car. Really doesn't sound terrible but it's missing some of the lower notes so I'll be adding a sub at some point. Really considering add I'd some 6x9's at some point also to round out the sound. Probably overkill but I want my tunes to hurt lol.

Truck's been at a stand still this week. Been working on a wall mount for a furnace we're putting in the shop(garage).
The beauty of having my own checking account is I can stack dimes lol Name: 20141016_001130_zpstdto1dzz.jpg

Nice job on the mount. What kind of heater are you going with? Reznor? I cannot wait until we move and I can have my own garage with heat!

No, we're actually putting a used house furnace in. It'll be tied directly into the living barrel the house uses. The shop is 24x33 with 9 1/2 foot walls and we'll insulated so it ought to be able to maintain 70ish degrees with no problems.

Thanks, I picked up an amp install kit today so hopefully I can put a sub in it soon. I've got a couple laying around just not sure if I wanna put the ancient 12" (the brand escapes me at the moment) or 10" Boston. Shouldn't be overkill but will have a nice bump to it. Sure wish I had my old kove Armageddons. Those things were wicked!

You guys with welders make me want one so bad. Wont be long we will all be needing heat. Freezing your butt off in the shop just takes the fun out of it. Those are some nice looking welds. Nice dime stacking, lol

Practice makes perfect when it comes to welding. There's no getting around it. My welds are far from perfect but they get the job done. Nothing brings me more joy than building something from nothing, other than my kids of course.

Nice work on the furnace mount! I envy you guys with heated shops, I have a roof over my head, but it gets pretty cold in the winter, like Terry said it takes the fun out of tinkering on your toys.

Id love to have a sub in my truck. 4" dash speakers & 6.5" rears don't exactly put out great sound. But my xcab space is needed for hunting dogs or gear usually. Wonder if I could fit a small 8" in custom box under a seat lol.
Great welds & fab job on furnace stand. Gonna get cold soon...

Still not much happening with the toyota. But I did manage to buy a truck yesterday. Scored a 79 f250 with a straight 6 4 spd and 40k original miles. Previous owner claims it has dana 60s front and rear but I'll verify that after I get it home. His dad bought it brand new so I am the 3rd owner. Needs some brake work and the body needs some obvious attention but overall it's a solid truck for the year. I drove 75 miles one way to look at it yesterday and I'm glad I did cuz the guys phone was blowing up with ppl wanting to buy it. Gonna pick it up this weekend. This is the only pic I have of it atm.

Nice score on the truck! I like them older fords, those straight six's run forever too! I like the looks of the patina, gives it character! Does it have the granny low first gear? ....man I need to get a work truck!

Oh ya I'm diggin it. Ya it has granny low. I'm thinking it needs a little lift and some 10 inch wide factory style steel wheels for that old school look. When I started it yesterday it fired up immediately and purred so smooth. The box will either need replaced with a nicer one or a flatbed. Depends on what I can find when I can afford it.
