Hello Jason and Cyberhorn... I have been trying the spot weld and then move on. One side is working and the other side is just burning thru. Will be glad when I get welding down. I has hoping it would be a quick fix so I could move on and start getting the floor coated with a silencer but that is holding me up now. I plan on doing a lot of practice welding this weekend and hope will learn something on it.

A while back I had a couple from Guatamala that wanted to look at my trucks. Have people in the past that like to look at them and never any problems. His wife dad apparently had a truck like my 85 and is really intrested in it and wanted to know what all I have done to it. I explained to them and went from one end to the other end and showed them. Told them this has been going on for about 2 years. He then offered $2500 for it which is about what I have into it. Really??? I politely declined. They were intrested in all of the trucks and Mistys Runner as well. These are two of my trucks that are definitely not for sale. He cant believe I have 5 Toyotas and none are for sale. Toms is the 5th one. He is determined that I should sell one of them.
I did help a friend part out an 86 standard cab auto truck. Frame and bed rusted in two. The previous owners took great car of the truck but rust just made it impossible to repair. Pulling an automatic transmission is a job due to the 6 converter bolts you have to get to and Toyota did not give a whole lot of room to access those. First automatic transmission truck I have worked on. Did get a nice stash of parts built back up and a few will end up on mine. We salvaged every good part we could get. No good part went to scrap.
Been tied up on several other things but have traded some parts with Tom on the door panels. Got a great set of brown armrest and finally got them installed. I have a cracked dash from the truck we parted. It will work for the time being until I find a great dash pad or I am about to give up on finding good pads and then they crack out at a later time. Am going to start looking at those overlays they have for the dashes.

door panel looks great terry an ive seen a few of those applied covers if you take the time to fit it an sand the old dash flat around the cracks which always seem to curl up making interference in the fit use some serious glue they can be very nice

Hello bootscootboogie...I think it was your thread that I seen the cover on and really liked the way it turned out.
Thanks Cyberhorn.. Seems I find them and they crack on me. I used to think it was the heat but mine have always cracked in the cold. I think I will eventually give one of those a try. The one I have now I can make look descent for the time being but it will be getting covered or replaced. I plan on working on the pad I got from the parted 86 truck tonite.

Here is some of the things I got off of the rusted out truck. Doesnt look like much but there is alot of things in there. Some will be going on the red runner I have out back someday. I got nearly all of the dash parts I will need to get it back togther. I literally got it from the salvage yard. It was cheaper for Tom to buy the whole runner and take the parts off of it. Asked me if I wanted it and had to think about that for a split second. It is a solid runner, just needs reassembled.
The truck we parted out looked like it was not worth anything but the parts on it are expensive and hard to find when you need them.

Tank looks terrible is in great shape and actually clean inside. The Fuel Pump Assembly is toast but once I got the brackets off everything else was great. Now I have a Fuel Guage and it has the Low Level Fuel Light and my harness should support it. Tank bracket should give an idea of how bad it was. I get to loosen the bed againnnnn, but I will have a fuel guage now.

Surprised at how clean it was inside. Tank look great and will get used on some future project in the future I am sure.

Not sure what I will do with this SR5 cluster. You dont see many automatic clusters. Might sell it or use it to fix a manual SR5 guage. The speedometer and tach has the horizontal lines that I prefer. You can set the mileage with this guage.

Hello Gargoyle Runner... I havent heard of that park. That would be the Northeast corner of Missouri. They have opened a park about 15 miles from me in the southwest part of where I am at. It is near the Arkansas border and sounds like it is a nice one with several ammenities for camping. I am wanting to go check it out sometime. I believe the name of it is White Rock Offroad park. I have heard good things about White Rock. I used to ride motorcycles in that area years ago and it has all kinds of places.

Been getting some work done and planning to hit hard in the next few days if all goes well. I took the dash from a parts truck.

Large crack size here but it will hide and will work until I find a better one or get the overlay cover.

Filled with body filler.

Got it painted. Need to get it installed and hope to get the truck to the inspection station soon.

I think I may know what you are talking about now. There is a place up there and I forget which town it is but there is another town in Oklahoma and what the government did was buy everybody out, fenced the entire town off from public use. I used to ride at the one in Oklahoma and those were a lot of fun. They say it is due to lead contamination and is why we are no longer allowed to use it.
Wish they would leave it to us to determine if it unsafe or not but that is the government. Those two I know of had wheelers from all over the place and brought in alot of revenue. They litterally are ghost towns. Houses and businesses are still standing but are empty. Chain link fence and government keep out signs everywhere. It is Picher Oklahoma or near Pitcher and it is done the same way as that place you are talking about. I really enjoyed those areas.

Had a nice little surprise today. I forgot I had this bumper from my 86 Runner when I bought it.

It has been more then 3 years since I pulled it off my runner and replaced it with the bumper that runners are supposed to have. This will work for now as I dont have a bumper on it currently. I did get to drive my truck to the windshield shop to get some trim work done on it. Hoping later to get it to the inspection station and then it is just a few dollars to get the tags on it. Should have my truck back in the next day or so.

Hello Cyberhorn... It is a more practical bumper. The bumpers taht come on the runners doenst offer much protection is probably made with 3 beer cans but I like the runner bumper on the runners. The picture below is what I will eventually put on my truck and I think it is made out of 4 beer cans.lol

When I heard it was going to Ohio, I did kind of cringe as I know that is rust haven. Someone shipping it from Arizona probably just using it as a toy. I will use a heavy duty bumper for a while. Finding a factory bumper is going to be hard. I had to piece the last one together from 3 or 4 different bumpers.
