I took it for a test drive after install and it feels fine. I notice a little more wind resistance above 55mph but it turns fine and does not feel as top heavy as it looks.

Nice progress! Truck is really coming along. Now all you need is a rear bumper! haha

Thanks 84yotadude! I have a few things that need to be done but rear bumper is probably the most important.

Took the truck out to Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge over my lunch break.

Thanks for the motivation dude, I seriously need to get my 1988 up and running again. I miss it so much, especially when I see beautiful rigs like yours.

Good review. What's the total price range you've spent on the total gun?

Appreciate it 881stgen! I get frustrated when it's not running for one reason or another but all the hard work pays off when I get to use it for stuff like this.

Camping set up:
Tent 900 topper 700 rack 450

As far as the rest of the truck goes I'm honestly not sure and I don't think I want to add it up. 50-100 per replacement part isn't bad but there are so darn many parts!

Really loving this build!! You have one of the cleanest 1st gens I've ever seen. I really like where you are going with this build also. The soft topper looks great!

All these camping pics make me want to take my runner out.

How do you like that tent. I was showing those to the wife.

Thanks! I've been keeping up with your 4runner build and it's awesome, great job!

I love the tent and so does my girlfriend. Actually the only way I can get her to come camping is to tell her we will be sleeping in the rtt.
It's pretty comfortable thanks to the built in pad (about 3") and doesn't take long to set up.
I've had a few tents collapse on me in bad wind so I invested in this tent with the hopes of it being more solid than the rest. So far so good!

Thanks for checking out my thread. Its been a long time going.

I really like the fact that the tent is off the ground and looks very solid. The wife and I are trying to think of ways that we an use our 4runner to camp with our sons. So we need to figure out the best way to sleep 4 people.

Maybe 2 in a tent and 2 in the back of the runner?
I've seen some 4 person tents but they tend to be very expensive. Also my tent is about 130 lbs so I'm guessing a 4 person would be about 200-250... Might be a little heavy for the fiberglass top. Possibly a rack that mounts to the 4runner bedsides under a softtop?

All pro bumper installed

Install was very easy, no problems at all. I like the look. I think I would like it better with a winch.
