So while I was waiting to start my new job and waiting on my MC transmission I decided to take a 3 week camping trip to CO. I went in my dads 4runner. I believe he bought it from someone on this forum. Don't know his name but he did a great job on the runner. Here are some pics.

Thanks

Thanks 84yotadude!
4runner is a lot nicer than my truck, it's a great source of inspiration and go to when I can't figure out some mechanical nonsense with my truck.

With my new job I'm working 6 days a week so time spent working on my truck is minimal. I paid a local shop to install my marlin crawler transmission and clutch. (Probably would have messed it up if I tried anyways).
Also discovered my rear driveshaft had a pretty good dent in it and needed to be replaced so I brought my truck to a drivetrain shop in Houston and they welded me up a nice 1 PC shaft!!

I think I need to replace my clutch pedal bracket as well. Feels like the clutch is not engaging all the way. My pedal is missing the bushing where the pin connects it to the clutch master cylinder and is also a little wallowed out..
Bracket is a little cracked

Nice job on your '84. The underside sure does not look 31 years old.

You dad's 4Runner is great. Breathtaking pics of Colorado. Keep posting!

Thanks! I slept in the back of my dad's 4runner for a few weeks and it was a little short. I'm not very tall at 5'10" but I couldn't quite stretch out. Should be plenty of room to sleep in my 7' long bed 😎

Can't wait to get it on the truck. I hope to have the suspension, bumpers and sliders installed by May so I can take the truck to Toyota jamboree!
