Finished welding bob, just needs a lil body filler now. Picked up a peice of 3x2 rectangle tube 1/4" thick and boxed in rear frame / bumper. Gonna place a order this or next week for shocks / ford shock towers / davez lspv delete / and d-rings for rear.

Took the week off of work , took some measurements of the door to make some panels. Turned out ok I think. I'm gonna round the corners and look for some black rubber u channel trim to go around the edges.

Gotta take some measurements of the ex cab panels and make those still.
Picked up a battery box to mount in bed , and some brass fittings to extend my differential vents.

just an fyi- we had an rv battery "explode" from sitting out in the cold in one of those boxes. not being under the hood near heat might make it susceptible to that, as well. just a heads-up, but i'm sure you've already got a good plan

No plan , just bolt box down to bed. Have had many relocated cars/ trucks/ boats with no issues out in the cold or heat .Sucks to hear it happen to you. Thanks for the heads up.

i think you'll be fine with cycling it (charging and discharging) to keep it somewhat warm-ish.

and the good thing about the exploded battery: it was all contained in the box, so no mess

I don't think it gets as cold here in Reno as back east ? Don't get me wrong it can get pretty cold, we're at 4200ft and about 30min from lake Tahoe . It's pretty rare that it get into the teens for very long.

Finished my door panels , rounded the corners and added u channel trim.
My plan was to match my steering wheel wood with door panels , looks pretty close.

Couldnt pass it up ! 92 4runner , has a rod knock in the 3.0. All electric windows / sunroof ect work . Super clean inside and out . Came with new pioneer cd player and she threw in tow hitches and roof racks with ski/ snowboard holders. I'm gonna look into a 3.4 swap instead of replacing 3.0. Once running it will be a daily since my lifted f150 extended cab is a little tuff to load 2 kids in cars seats every day. Once kids are older and my 84 is done being built, I will build this for the family crawler. Enjoy. Progress won't stop anytime soon on the 84.

Nothing anytime soon. It will be parked at the shop . I will be focusing on getting my 84 trail ready for the summer.
I have made a few calls today just to see my options on a 3.4 swap , I found one locally for 1100$ with ecu and harness. Unknown mileage , but comp tested solid. There's no doubt the 3.4 is a better stronger motor , but I may just build or buy a 3.0 long block, add headers/intake/and exhaust. Don't know if all the extra work is worth the hp gain for 3.4. For a stock daily with a 5sp the 3.0 will have more than enough power. Once lifted and straight axle swap with larger tires it will get geared and will still hold its own on the roads and trails.
But who knows ? I havnt made my mind up. I think a 4.7 v8 yota swap would be rad! I got time to think it over before I do anything to it.

Finished installing battery to the bed.
Cut a square hole , cut some cooler line hose in half to protect the cable from sharp edges. Drilled a few hole amd zip tied hose in place.

Drilled a hole in bed mount , sanded surface down for a good battery ground , and also added a rear body ground to bed.

Ran positive cable down through hole between frame and gas tank , added some wire loom to prevent scraping. Then just ran cable down frame and hung it with brackets to keep it in place and tight. Wire loom in a few sections to preven rubbing.

Made a bracket and extended it out with a bushing to prevent shackle hitting it during movement.

Added a junction post to connect positive cable , made a new starter cable amd ran it from post to starter and ran fuse box wire to post.

Then mocked up box in bed amd drilled 4 holes. Also I wanted to keep the battery from bouncing around in box so I took the cut off wheel amd made 2 slices to bottom of box to run a strap around to hold battery down inside.

Drilled holes in bed & Bolted box down

The bolt heads barely touch underside of battery so I added a cusion of cardboard.

Battery in and strapped down to box.

Put new terminals on and installed the lid and ran another strap around outside of box to keep the lid on.

Dude, nice door panels! I like the idea, I might have to steal it and make some of my own. And it goes perfect with that momo wheel! My buddy has a momo in his CRX and it is super comfy to grip.

I'm working with my friend who's dad owns a CNC to make a wood center bezel. If it all works out and if you are interested I could ship one down to you. It would tie the wood interior together. Just a thought.

Thanks. I had that momo in many of my Hondas with a quick release hub.
When you get your Bezel made up I'd be interested in seeing it.
