Thanks. Theres still so much more stuff I need to do before I will even lightly wheel it or street it. This time next year it will be a different truck if all goes as planned.

Nicely done man! It shows you put your heart into this truck. The before & after pics give me inspiration to work on my own junk.

Looking forward to see how it turns out. Awaiting MORE pics......(impatiently!)....

^ thanks. It's a lie , you can polish a turd. Lol. If I were building a show truck I would have never started with this. But for a trail rig it was a perfect start. To the untrained eye it's still junk. But will last longer and go more places than 90% of rigs on the street. Keep building , it will only get better.

That's what I say; to everyone else these old trucks are just that, junk. But, they don't see the true beauty of the machine, they just don't die! Moving forward!

Thanks^
I drove it around the block today , I truly forgot how gutless these trucks are with big tires and stock gears. It was pretty sad. I may have to gear it before I even think about driving it this summer.

Picked these up for pretty much nothing. I may mount them behind my ford grill though. Havnt made up my mind yet.

Not too happy with front springs. I'm gonna pull atleast 1 if not 2 leafs out, and stretch front at least 2"

Still had a lil more to go but front tire was stuffing fire wall if I went up more.

I'm totally pleased with the rear , it had a lot more travel to go easily ! But again it would stuff the front tire into fender /firewall.

I knew I would have stuffing issues using the 44044 springs. I need to pull a leaf or two out of the front To make it flex a lil easier , and build a new front hanger to move front axle 2" forward or so . Doing so I will need to move shackles up as well. The 63" rears are definatly doing the majority of the work. They will work even better when I can fully use them when I get my front tire from stuffing first.

Started the bob today. Won't be able to finish anytime soon due to new baby. Still need to do a little trimming and align before I weld up. Also need to box in rear frame for a bumper. But in a nutshell here's the length. Took about 12.5" out. Probly just shy of 13" when I'm done fitting.

That looks awesome! What type of welder are you using on the bed? I'm gonna have to weld some spots on my bed also

Thanks , it should look tons better when all buttoned up with bumper and tail lights. I'm just gonna use the snap on welder we have at the shop. I'm not sure the model. Just turn it down and do small sections at a time I guess.

My cuts were 12.5" , but the bed is pretty warped so measurements were wack , some additional trimming is needed to line it all up so it may be closer to 13" when all done. I'll just lop off the frame at the rear shackle hanger is and box in frame. My thoughts are when boxed in it will stick out a 1/2" past tailgate to act as bumper. I seen your bob, looks clean!

I guess I should have asked if you were gonna use a MIG welder, not really the brand.

The bed bob looks rad!

You really brought this truck back from the dead. Great job.

I wish I had access to a shop like that. Snap-On goodness

Ya our snap on guy loves us. Everyone in the shop sports a newer snap on box / roll carts ect. We buy very little from other vendors. There great tools , but hey are very expensive ! I've got around 40k in tools In the last 12 years, mostly snap on with some Mac / Matco / Cornwell / craftsman and other brands of specialty made tools for transmissions. Gets old having weekly tool bills , but there needed to do my job . Sure nice to have quality tools when needed, right tool for the job.

Ya me too . I didn't think I would at first. Those tires are wore out and mounted on the factory 5" wheel so they won't see any action. Mounted just as rollers to get my height and suspension figured out. Although I like the white , I got some new 15x8 black soft 8s lined up for 100$. Didnt want to follow the trend and go soft 8s but the price and size are right.

Back to work after the newborn. Pretty weather in Reno so I only had a chance on lunch break to trim a little and tack rear section in place. Can't wait to finish trimming and welding . Need to pick up some square tube next week and box in frame. Gonna cut the rear sides below tail lights and bend some tube to wrap around and tie in frame for some protection.
