The outside of the tank is really nice and it doesn't leak a drop either. But it is full of rust... I looked in to a kit to more less do the same thing as getting it cleaned for 70$... was hoping to just find a tank though.. thanks tin

WEll, I promise you they do a good job. If you're going to keep it, it'll be a great investment to get that tank cleaned up, sandblasted out and sealed. Mines clean as a whistle now buddy. Before and after:

Mine was full of rust too, but most of it was from a corroded sending unit and fuel pickup. Actual surface rust inside was fairly minimal. I just tossed a couple handfuls of nuts and bolts in it and shook the living crap out of it for about a hour (heluva workout!). I then poured a couple gallons of white vinegar in it to dissolve the little stuff, sandblasted the outside and slapped some POR-15 on it. It turned out really well.

You can also use RedKote or POR-15 tank sealer, but I have heard mixed reviews all internal tank sealers. I can only imagine the mess I would have if the sealer started flaking off inside the tank. Depending on how bad your tank really is, you may be able to salvage it like I did mine.

Check with a radiator shops in your area and see if they can clean it for you. I took mine to one here in town and they put it into a radiator cleaning vat, checked for leaks and repaired, all for $45.00. The inside was like new when finished, then I repainted before installing.

I couldn't find anyone in my area, and we have several radiator shops. OSHA or some regulating agency made them quit dipping the radiators.
That's why I ended up sending mine off.

So I have came up with a few different options. I have a line on a fuel cell. 13 gallon. Now my only concern is it is off of a boat... so how could I do that? Other options are the f150 tank or a Heep wrangler plastic tank. Only problem with option 2 is it is a fuel injection tank so I would have to pull it apart n bypass the fuel pump... anybody have a pics of some tanks replaced with others?? The more pics the merrier!

O how exciting my last couple days have been. Pulled the box off to do some frame repair and its turned into a back half repair lol here's some pics of the work so far. As you can tell the rear cross members are shot so they're getting cut out and replaced with bigger better metal .

Wow, first one I see that is worse than mine! But its fixable though with time and patience! Oh and a welder! but if that's what your back half looks like, the front might be pretty bad too, especially around the shackles. Mine was worse at the front than at the back.

Front is surprisingly good. Its got a few oil leaks that's preserved it lol. And yea its fixable. Everything is goin to be stronger and thicker so it'll be nice and stout .

Something else I have been trying to figure out is a replacement shock. I think I have read somewhere on here about using f150 or ranger shocks I think? Any ideas of a shock that will work. Planning a trip to the junkyard and was going to get some off a newer truck if I can find some . All help appreciated!

Well.....guess ill be the one who says it. That frame is gone dude. Find another. Even patched well it would never pass inspection or be safe.

Dont kid yourself. There is nothing left.

Pretty sure I have plated all the way down both sides. Inside outside top and bottom along with new thicker stronger cross members. I'm gonna give a guess and say its stronger now then when it came from Toyota. It will pass inspection since I had an inspector already look at it. If I could post more pics I would show you. Thanks for your opinion though.
