86-89 4runner body / frame for trailer project

Looking to start another project in which I convert a first generation 4runner rear half into a camping trailer to go with my 88 4runner.
looking for decent body and frame from the b-pillar back with tailgate.
Preferably something with front end wreck, blown motor, salvaged, or not operable. (Don't want to take a good truck off the road)

Don't need doors, front fenders, hood, interior, or drivetrain
Let me know if you have something you are willing to part with
I'm in Charleston SC..so hopefully something close to me since I will have to trailer it Home
Price: negotiable but targeting $500. Definitely not worth more than 1k..Thanks

I'm looking for a wrecked 1st gen to get interior and possibly manual swap. If I get one, would you be willing to come all the way to Chattanooga TN for it?
If ou or I find one near you maybe you can have it and I'll just take what I need.

That's about 6 hrs from me, one way. It might be possible for the right truck. Wouldn't want to drive that far for a hunk of garbage. But possible.
would want to see pictures and get buy in before you/ we committed on anything obviously.
If you have details or pics post or pm me...maybe we could work something out? One Toyota friend to another...

I'll keep you in mind of I find something locally here as well. But pickings are slim.
Keep me posted

why not include 84 & 85? frame differences up front would not impact your plans.
what tongue weight are you shooting for?

Could include those years. But didn't think that there would be anyone willing to give up even the worst of trucks with a solid front axle. Maybe...but not for a reasonable price probably.

For tongue weight, I'm gonna be targeting 15% of the trailer weight. This is super rough...but The whole entire truck weighed in at just about 4000 lbs. I figure by the time I strip it and chop it my carcass would weigh about 1/3 of that. So 1300 lbs. Add 500 lbs of gear / water maybe. Call it 1800 lbs loaded. So maybe around 270 lb tongue weight.
can always shift load around or increase tongue length to adjust up or down.
Too early to know. But I am considering it.

Know any body who want to unload a 4runner?

Are you planning to use the fiberglass top and somehow incorporate that into a topper...or run open bed?

Cool idea, looking forward to seeing progress, come on somebody, offer this man a carcass.

I have a 88 sr5

I have a 88 sr5. It was hit in the front but no frame damage. Broke the steering box. Engine runs great. I'm in Columbia, tn. Brown interior. Good shell. Maybe we can all work something out where everyone gets what they need. I hate seeing these trucks go to waste but this cab is to far gone.

Not a bad start at first glance ...can you get any more pictures of the body damage on passenger side from rear of door to rear of wheel well? From a different angle maybe? .looks like the bed side might be wrinkled a bit. Is it creased?

Also you mentioned no frame damage from the wreck but what condition is the frame in ? Rusty? Do they salt the roads up there?
