Super Swamper LTB

im considering the LTB as a replacement for my next set of tires. im looking at the 34x10.5 but im unsure about the height and width ratio. theyre tall and skinny and i dunno if ill like them. does anyone have pics on this size on a 4runner preferrably? thanks

Do you know what you're getting into? These tires are VERY aggressive and bias ply. They suck on road as much as they excel off road - which is quite a bit. They are EXTREMELY loud and you will pay a significant gas mileage penalty (3-4 MPG in my case) Unless you wheel A LOT there are better options.

But that's not what you asked for ... I think they look great. Here's a pic of 34x10.50-16 LTB on a Taco (SuperPoser on TTORA):

Here's a couple pix of my 4Runner with 34x9.50 TSL's

If you wheel a lot, especially in the mud, and don't daily drive the truck, these tires may be what you're looking for. If you're not in the mud much, I would go with a 33x10.50.

I was thinking about buying these a few months back since they were so damn cheap. I turned out not buying them because of the bias makeup of the tire. This really equates to horrible on-road driving, and better all-around offroad use though. I dont think id be running them unless I had a dedicated trail rig.

Save your money and wait to get something more road friendly...

they aren't bad on the road. this comes from having the 31x11.5s on my truck for the past 2 years(i dd'd it until last september), and now the 34x10.5s. the place where they really suck is at high speed(65-70 is sort of scary) and in rain, since i never had them siped.

other than that, yeah, they get flatspots if it's really cold out and they won't last long if you're a real aggressive driver, or have a heavy rig. but come on, they're swampers. if you want extreme tread life, get some street terrains.

my truck with 3" lift, 34s:

No, they suck on the road - you're just used to them now!

Just get some Dyna Beads to balance them continuously, that's what I did and I love them. I wouldn't recommend them for commuting, but I drive my 93 with them on them everyday to school and work, bout 30 mi. They are definitley not radials, but I wheel almost every weekend and they work for me. And yes they are loud.

I had 33 12.50 TSL Bias, and yep as great as they were off road, they sucked on road. My 4runner didnt weigh enough to warm them up in anything less that 30 miles....so thump thump thump down the road... If you thought about ice or rain they slipped and spun.

They are also alot heavier and have more rolling resistance than a tire of equal size, in fact its easier driving my 35 radails.

I went back to radials for a reason.

I love mine. I wheel some, and drive 30 miles one way to work. Mine ride good until you get over 65 m.p.h. but under that they are pretty smooth. I think it all depends on how well they are balanced. Two of my wheels almost have 2 pounds of wait on them for the tire to balance out. With any bias ply you will have flat spots in the morning but after the tires heat up that bump goes away. I'll try and get some pics up tommorow.

Oh and on a side note. I just finished my 3.4l swap in my 91 4runner and no more shifting out of 5th on the interstate. man i love it.

FWIW, these tires only measure about 32" tall...I was set to get them and didn't because I was disappointed in their actual measurement.

Mine measured almost 33.5, but not really a 34. That is the one thing i don't like about them.

Weird, are they the 15" or 16"? When I put the 16" next to my 295's (33.5) they were noticabley smaller.

Just depends on the manufacturer I guess
