Street use suggestions

I don't really use my 2001 4Runner sport for any off-roading and use it as a daily driver that is on the road or highway 98% of the time. With that said we do get plenty of snow and ice here in WI and I was hoping someone might offer up some suggestions to a good quality all season tire for use on stock rims.
Thanks,
Suzukipro

BFG KO All Terrains are killer on the street and on ice. And last forever on the street.

X2 on the BFG all terrain. I have run BFGs for years. I got BFG a/ts on my 4runner now. I have about 20k on them and they havent even wore to the tits between the treads. I have a set on my z71 also not even hardly scuffed. Keep them rotated and they will last damn near forever.
When you do get mud packed in them hold on and brush up on your driving skills, they are like a set of skates. Other than that

I'm glad everyone likes the BF's more than I did on snow and ice. Liked them but didn't love them. I'd go Bridgestone Revo's any day of the week for wet, snow, and ice conditions. Do a search on your favorite tire - this topic has been beaten to death a number of times.
Good luck!

I've ran Michelons, Goodyears and Bridgestones in the 145,000 miles on my rig the Revo's by Bridgestone ar by far the best all around (Snow, Ice, rain, mud and dry traction).

I may be the only one on this thread that likes Cooper Discover ATs I have had them on 2 Toyotas and 3 full size Chevys and love them in the snow. The first time a put on a new set in the winter time I almost never had the truck in 4wd and when they start to wear just get them siped (they come with a good factory sipe on them). As for tire life I have put over 70,000 on a set on a full size truck.

I am gonna have to jump on the BFG KO band wagon myself. I had a set that ran for 40,xxx miles and when I sold them they still had 13/32's tread left on them. They also did very well in the snow for me and rain was no big deal like running on dry pavement , the mud well that's another storie , but you have to sacrafice(sp) one for the other and since you say you don't off road it then I think these would be a great choice for you.

I purchased the Goodyear fortera triple treads from sears on black friday for $830.00 installed and recieved a $60.00 gift card to sears and a $40.00 rebate from goodyear. I assume they will also charge me for allignment and tire disposal but I thought it was a fairly good deal? If anyone has any experience or opinions with these tires please let me know what you think.

I've heard good things about them. They will be a lot better for you than BFG KO's. I don't see how those guys were suggesting the KO's for street duty. THEY ARE AN OFF-ROAD TIRE! How will the thick 3-ply sidewalls, big lugged tread w/ no water channels help this guy riding on the road? I currently have KO's and they're great for what I do, but if I were on-road 98% of the time, I'd have to go with either REVO's incase I run into any mild off-road situations, or any good all-terrains from GoodYear, Michelin or Bridgestone.
